Silver Age Silliness

Post all those wacky things comic characters did that were weird and/or ridiculous by today's standards but, didn't so much as raise an eyebrow back then.

its funny because they did an actual story line like this in the 2000's. It was supposed to be serious politically themed stuff.

...

This is the kind of shit that drives me to comics

Back in those days they drew comics with buff guys and attractive females. They often fought against criminals, or super-powered villains who wanted to take over the world. Most of the main characters were even white! And then they sold these comics on newsstands and at supermarkets for affordable prices. Wacky times, man.

That first pic isn't Silver Age. It's by Kerry Callen, the same artist behind "Super-Antics".

It was also commissioned by Comics Alliance.

Also, "The Joker's Comedy of Errors!", where the boner stuff comes from, is out of Batman #66, published in 1951, making it a Golden Age story.

My bad, dude. I get the years mixed up sometimes.

Can someone post those comic book covers where Superman is being a jerk

Here you go.

wow those look so authentic I couldn't tell. Thanks user.

Thank you. Were these as funny to the people of the time as they are to us?

I'm going to storytime that comic. Out of context panels and covers can't really do the Silver Age justice until you've actually read an issue.

Yes. Superheroes ran a little looser back the day, free of any real pretension. The stories were often stranger than the covers, as this World's Finest issue will attest. It's one of the crazier ones.

...

Fucking imps.

Kinda funny that a very niche manga carries silver age soul and heart. With silly situations being done and/or said with a straight face.

This looks interesting, whats the name?

Goes on /a/.

I feel like I understand the story even less than when I had just read the cover.

From the article that revealed Darkwing Duck and DuckTales have no real connection

Real quick, this manga is far closer to silver age comic than Academia. And even if that's dismissed, still far closer to a western comic enjoyment than mostly anything DC or Marvel has put out in over a decade.

Secondly /a/ has shit taste and you fucking know it.

Uchi no Musume ni Te o Dasu na! - Oyako Heroine Funtousu

The milf is pretty much a combination of supermanXwonder woman. From which the creator saw wonder woman covers from silver age and decided to make stories out of them. Humorous and serious in the same chapter quite a few times. Feels like it's nearing the end unfortunately.

They don't? But what about Launchpad being in both shows?

not to mention that GizmoDuck showed up in an ep of Darkwing and Launchpad confirmed that they both used to work for "the same guy"

user thank you for recommending this comic.I just read it and it is awesome. Does it go beyond chapter 15 or is that it? I want to read more.

Does it end at ch. 15 or is there more? ch. 15 doesn't feel like a proper ending to me.

Chapter 15 is just the most recent. Can't tell ya how many more chapters it has. It just feels like this story is coming close to it's end. So it's assumptions on my part.

oh ok then thanks user. I've been enjoying it so far.

...

Is that the story where Thanos has the Thanoscopter?

Thank you for sharing this comic OP, it's a damn shame attractive woman are only seen in what is essentially a porn comic.

...

Mature comic. The author did for a fact release a porn comic, whether same universe or parallel I do not know, that is just as silly but far more sex scenes.

As for the original manga, this scene was nice and something you won't see in comics nowadays cause heroes are celebrities now. They are untouchables and distant.

Keep manga on /a/, please.
