Is it possible to create a game in GoDot engine that integrates with Holla Forums? Like it would let you see threads and posts in the game, to read and respond to them, and do various in-game stuff that integrate with Holla Forums?
I want to create a game where you run around in a virtual world of shitposting, where GETs confer special advantages on you, and it even uses the dice feature on here.
When you take a screencap in the game, it automatically ends up as an attached file for next post you submit (which you do all ingame).
You could also output text of stats and stuff that gets posted with each post.
e.g. Anon234 - Class Pepe
I might make this work with VR too.
This could get pretty elaborate.
Is such a thing possible? A game that integrates with Holla Forums so you can shitpost and read shitposts from within the game and the gameplay can be affected by your shitposting?
It would be cool too if you could collect rare pepes in the game, they would be saved in a folder, and which you can repost in threads, and you could have pokemon-esque meme battles that play out both on Holla Forums threads and in the game.

Will Holla Forums ever have bots that we can talk to? I want to see Holla Forums bots become a thing.
James Bailey
you're talking about an in game browser or an in game overchan app kind of thing
the answer is yes, an example of a game with in game browser is "The Secret World" it's a free MMO and pretty decent but like all MMOs there is a right kind of build and it does get a bit grindy
Mason Barnes
codemonkey talked about making one

You missed a golden opportunity there.

Basically the in-game chat would all get posted onto Holla Forums.
Ayden Taylor
if that's what you want to do then yes it can be done
Jeremiah Hall
Would it also be able to display the posts from Holla Forums though? aka someone posts on Holla Forums and the post shows up ingame too?
Like how some Minecraft servers have it...

Are you underage or just a retard from Holla Forums? Yes. Also friendly reminder that it's really easy to add bot-specific API endpoints, and have an API key system, with Next, and that this is the future you chose. I can't wait to see what spaghetti Fred and Ron write. I think it's hilarious that they ditched the overboard/multiboard after promising it for months.

you mean that meme game where you have healers, deathknights, warriors, mages and all that crap and its based on gets? and you're beating a boss and shit
why not make an actual game?

I'd dig a game-based interface for posting on 8ch

We should have this, but only for boards that allow you to upload 3d models with animations.
OP of each thread could decide the "environment" model as well as posting some models and animations that go in the environment. Then everyone else has to reply with their own 3d models and animations. When you upload stuff, you could specify which generic set of shaders to use on it, which angle and position, camera perspective, what kind of lighting. To really encourage creativity, it could be banned to post any other type of file. Users would at least have to put their generic reaction face on a quad polygon before uploading it.
It could be really great for porn and OC. On the server end, it should be a basic API, so people could use any engine they want to make a viewer. Someone could make a viewer that's good with VR.

Whats godot and how is it better than unity? I would be ecstatic help work on this if anyone wants to actually go through with it.
Is it supposed to be 2d or 3d? What do you have in mind OP?
Matthew Bennett
1.Godot is lightweight(30mb~) 2.Godot actually require you to write some script and it isn't just a heavy stock of buttons 3.free as in freedoom 4.well documented
Thomas Hill
also it easily run on a thinkpad t61

A shitposting MMORPG? What would you make for enemies? What about tiny, abandoned boards, like /jk/, or /fury/ or /demodanny/? What if a player was banned from a board. Sound cool OP but you should give us a bigger idea.
