Do We Need a Socialist Think Tank?

Thoughts?

jacobinmag.com/2016/05/bernie-sanders-think-tank-heritage-brookings-policy/

We don't need a think tank, we just need more socialist thinkers who are young and with fresh ideas and interpretations who can lead the next generation

that list is good

;_;

not if he feeds

...

Good.

Who would fund such a think-tank? The problem is that under capitalism, anti-capitalists may have plenty of popular support, but no natural major financial support. That's why the farther left a party or institution is, the more desperate it is for donations or sponsorship (until it gets co-opted by large corporate donors and subsequently neutered).

...

The same persons who fund Bernie's campaign.

Good luck, they've all been hoovered up by SJWism.

Only ones left are autists like us who aren't qualified to lead a fishing trip.

Inventing the Future does a good job explaining the need for radical left think tanks preparing the battleground for the next moment of crisis.

Interesting.

I agree.

Depends what kind of tank you're talking about :^)

How'd they do it? What is the appeal of SJW to those who should be leftist?

The utter failure of leftism in the 20th century, its near-total lack of political power in the 21st century, the easy marketability of liberalism, the accessibility of liberalism, the intense propaganda campaign against communism in the US since the 50s… should I keep going?

This is what the vanguard party is for comrades. No party connected to the working class, no think tank worth talking about. We have tons of academic theorizers worth much due to how unreal their ideas are due to.their disconnection from.the average worker and their mindset.

Is this true for the younger generations? I mean it's unlikely anyone under thirty in the US or Europe will have had any real exposure to any 20th century socialism or indeed the propaganda against it.

I guess these two are the big factors. Everyone likes to be right. And liberalism/progressivism has the momentum for the foreseeable future. A lot of the appeal I guess comes from their (the liberals) position as the opposition to the 'right wing' parties. By joining the liberals you can be on the in crowd, morally justified and righteous.

Well played porky. Well played.

As a 23 year old American, all I heard about the left (before looking into it myself) was some ghost stories in high school history and movies about the cold war. I had no strong feelings either way.

I'm a few years older and it was kinda similar for me. 'leftism' was never derided or condemned in my school and looking back many of my teachers were in fact sympathetic though they never spoke of leftism positively beyond Amnesty international type issues and anti-warism. School was also largely indoctrination with politically correct ideals.
