I thought technology regression was the only answer, but I ended up coming here and finding the real answer, socialism. I suppose, in a weird way, you guys deserve my gratitude. Without Holla Forums, I don't think I would have come out of my shell as much as I have in regards to politics. You guys helped rekindle my passion in the left and for communism (albeit of a different variety than I embraced in the past).

I discovered this place when it had /cyb/ rather than /cyber/, but it was still a really slow website. I came back to check every so often, and then gg happened and this place got more popular, but I never saw /cyb/ and /cyber/ wasn't the same.
Anyways, I stayed because this whole site was generally better, save for the constant paranoia over SJWs, but all in all this whole place was better because muh free speech. Also, Holla Forums beats /g/ hands free.

Pretty much my story as well. I actually grew up in a relatively conservative, religious family. I was a "pull yourselves up by their bootstraps" kind of guy, complete with nationalist economic and immigration beliefs.

So how did I end up on Holla Forums? After the Battle of Five Guys, I was on fullchan and reading the most popular boards. I used to like Holla Forums for discussions and the hilarious satire, but here on Holla Forums it's not satire: they're legit Stormcucks and it's fucked up. It started to put my beliefs into perspective.

So here I am, exploring the nature of socialism and its various implications for social and economic policy, and finally all the things that didn't make sense to me about our system do now. I've got a lot more to learn but the posters here are informative as fuck. This place is leagues ahead of most places I've ever posted.
