I started reading about the whole state of affairs and I just had to start asking myself one question, "why?". Why would the German government gas Jews? What possible benefit is there that isn't readily available by means of deportation? If the Germans had actually gassed 6 million then why is there such a scant amount of evidence? As far as the whole thing goes, you could spend the rest of your life studying the subject and never understand it completely. I do not intent to waste mine on this subject.

For that reason I'll have to side with David Irving. According to him (vid related), there was indeed a gas chamber in Auschwitz of capacity for max 200 people, and rarely used - typically for excess of people (wouldn't surprise me if that meant disabled etc.).

It is not that massive room presented as gas chamber by the authorities however. The claim is made in a diary of some officer there, you can dig it up in the video. The existence of it depends solely on the diary entry - so it is questionable, but Irving deems it possible. Not only that, but it would somewhat explain the paranoia over supposed gas-chambers.

As far as mass murder goes, I would refer you to "Höfle Telegram" with pretty high numbers. This one, according to Irving, has an unusual format - and in it's content does not mention explicitly Jews (or people/body count for that matter) as various sources will represent. It also has nothing to do with Auschwitz, but other camps.

But again, according to Irving, it would fit in with some other reports and the general approximation of 1.x million Jews dead total. Culprit is mainly Himmler, arranging the reports in such a manner that Hitler never got a clear report on what was going on, as he was not keen on solving the issue in such manner.

Jews, however, cannot really prove any of this. That is why they took some elements of truth and made a parade out of Auschwitz, sticking to their predetermined number of 6 million, exaggerated everything, and made a bogeyman out of Hitler.
