I recommend German if you're a native English speaker because the grammar is very similar and even the lexicon will look familiar, living in Southern California all my life I personally have picked up a bit of Spanish

Japanese are importing thousands of loan-words a year. It isn't a very good language for expressing oneself.

There ARE some Japanese loanwords in English as well though

English has a possessive case and remnants of the dative and accusative cases on objective pronouns.

You're right, but not nearly as many as English (or Portuguese) loanwords in Japanese.
