iirc you can make comics using the premade characters but that's it. I preferred the original creator anyway.

What's funny is that these "emojis" are completely customizable; you design a very detailed cartoon version of yourself and somehow it gets easily inserted into hundreds of emojis and stickers.

I think the closest thing to Bitstrips right now, in terms of flexibility and designing your own characters at least, is Miitomo… But since it doesn't make comics you'll have to make panel by panel.

I just Googled "online comic maker", and there's a shit-ton of them. But I can actually draw so I can't be arsed seeing which ones are free, and which ones don't suck.
