There shouldn't be an exact age of consent, per se, but when someone is old enough to do so, they should be able to take a test to determine if they're well enough informed to be having safe sex. Passing the test would get you a sex license and anyone with a sex license could sex anyone else with a sex license. It probably wouldn't be perfect, but it would help cut down on unwanted births and STDs. You don't let people just buy drugs or drive a car, why should people just one day be allowed to do something so potentially dangerous as having sex? Good luck upholding this, though, I guess. I think in theory it could be really good for us, but in practice, the backlash would probably be worse than the prohibition.

I think the two-tier system some countries have is the most practical way to go.

There's a hard minimum, like 12 or 13, and then a "full" age of consent a few years later at 16 or 18. In between it's not illegal as such, but there's a stricter standard of consent.
