Transhumanism

What does Holla Forums think of transhumanism? There's already people walking around with pretty advanced prostheses, what about proper cybernetic replacements for limbs/eyes/other body parts?
Do you think they'd be viable within our lifetimes and would you get them if they were?
I personally like the idea of cybernetic limbs, but I wouldn't cut off a limb unless the replacement could outperform it. I also would avoid them if they were marketed as consumer stuff by say Apple or Microsoft, I would want mine designed and implanted by doctors.
I wouldn't be as eager to use nano-machines though.
The alternative would be biological replacements. Muscle grafts and lab-grown replacements for body parts. Would you be more or less willing to take that path rather than a purely mechanical one? Or is a mixture of the two the best option.

Also general future science discussion.

just look at our computers with intel ships and prism and microsoft and google and apple and all that NSA backdoor bullshit and systemd

do you really want that shit in your body?

mark of the beast.

keep pushing the narrative shill bot.

you have no soul.

it's fucking disgusting, but it's unavoidable. so who gives a shit?

hence my explicit desire to avoid that if I were to get any implants. Current prosthetics aren't associated with those companies or any kind of backdoor shit.
You don't need any kind of external connections, just a power source (which could potentially be drawn straight from your body) and motor control.

why do you think it's disgusting? Would you be in favour of artificial enhancements if they were purely biological rather than mechanical?

because we're going to a second 'sex revolution', new means of surveillance, wiped off racial identities, a push for liberalism, degeneracy all over the planet, communism, etc. yes, if it was solely medical, i'm in baby. but we all know that wont happen since apes and yids exist.

Nope. Countless deaths have happened because of technology. If it wasn't for technology there wouldn't have been ww1 and 2, the cold war, nukes, bio weapons, disastrous power plants, etc. Technology is mainly cancer and I wish I lived in simpler times tbh. Like the roman empire or something similar, without the slavery.

that's double-think user.

shill detected.

because every single computer today is foss. oh wait, it's not. it's a monopoly of governments and corporations seeking to control everyone and spy endlessly.

you've already lost you cocksucker

I have to get my message out somehow in the middle of absolute no where where I live. It may be hypocritical but, there's no other realistic ways of getting my message out there. Sometimes you have to be a hypocrite tbh.

traditionalism vs liberalism round 2 is going to one hell of a ride. i hope i'm alive to see it. which side are you on, user?

Also that's not double think, double think is when you accept two mutually contradictory statements like:

traditionalism.

Depends on what America achieves in their plans for world dominance. You keep it clean and tidy but after a while you get lazy and make a mess everywhere. Backups are good. Some people remember it only when HDD crashes. A man of European ancestry puts a paper on a car - it's floaty and I see myself as 16 in a hallway in love with a girl like Allison Reynolds. Teenage rebellion is a myth pushed on parents starting in the 50's, and it's a self-fulfilling prophecy because it preaches that they should never have a strong hand in raising their children. A lot of kids are just doing this kind of thing because they simply don't know any better, not because they're rebelling against their parents. Raise your children with a proper set of morals for them to understand the world with and they won't have to flounder without guidance in their teenage years making a fool of themselves. I might go scouring for free furniture, fix it up and try and flip it on ebay. Dive in and bring back what you find. Reading in bed right before you are about to sleep is also good for remembering (10-20 minutes of reading), but only on Holla Forums? You must take out the funny bone without touching the sides. The male body is more than willing to sacrifice itself for the slightest chance of impregnating some female. It's like these faggots who simply won't understand the legal implications of 19th Amendment prohibition, and want to undermine it's disenfranchised constitionality! The fact the transgendered people that get sex changes exist should imply that bodies do imply gender. Yes, if you get up off your ass, eat more fibre and don't spend 30 minutes on the toilet to take a 30 second dump. I can improve anything about myself that it's changeable, but I cannot change those around me for those that I can't. To impregnate her with my seed, so that my genes will live on after I die - sort of like nature's way of reincarnation. Just don't get too emotional about it, neither don't get too excited or too furious. The logical thing to do would be to give back the medal. So, if you want to be to be truly fulfilled during the short time you exist in this universe, I would recommend you seek to know yourself and who you are, and resolve to undertake a personal journey to that end. And may you find enlightenment along the way.

you realise that countless lives have also been saved by technology? Technology doesn't cause wars, human nature does, which then fuels technological growth. I'm not saying I disagree with you that technology also has the capability to cause a lot of suffering and death, but no matter how far back you go in human history there has always been suffering and death.

the return of the bot?

...

it's gibberish anyway

You are overcomplicating things, OP.
Take a look at the other threads on Holla Forums for a minute.
Look at all the people who are experiencing full, satisfying sexual lives with fucking cartoon drawings.
If that is an indication of anything it is that human beings would be just as happy, if not happier, with *less* physically advanced limbs than we already have. Cut out an arm-shaped piece of cardboard, airbrush it to make it look really fucking strong, and duct-tape it to my stump…..THAT is what people are going to want in the future, not some chip-driven bionic robot arm.

I should add that I think you are ascribing far more rationality to us as a species than we actually have. Yes, we have the capacity for rationality, but we seldom actually engage in it. It is a quibbling difference, but an important one.

it is great idea, and it needs to happen if humans ever hope to take control of their own evolution.
The only problem I can see coming for it is the rich will have a huge advantage when it first comes out
