I think this ungoogle thing is a lot better than Iridium, mainly because it's forked under gplv3 license, that means the 4 freedoms are guaranteed to the user. Iridium codes are bound to permissive based license.

It's just a random string that 1) isn't the IANA-assigned .invalid TLD and 2) isn't absolute, so if your machine gets its hostname from a common dyndns pool anyone else can grab that string and sniff your traffic (just like wpad on windows)

Hey, here's a question. If the whole point of Chrome was to separate the browser from the rendering engine, why even bother with trying to de-botnet Chromium at all? Why not just make another browser that uses Blink?
