Reminder that a fucking half hour cartoon show did Suicide Squad better than the big budget blockbuster film

Wasn't Plastique Captain Atom's wife at one point?

Apparently the movie wasn't even like deadpool, it was just bleak as fuck.

I still can't believe they managed to fuck up that hard, the concept is perfect for a film since you literally just have to make a heist movie about the squad.

Even the CW was able to do it well.

the animated movie assault on arkham did better than the suicide squad movie as well. In fact I think the only reason why they made a live action Suicide Squad was because of the popular feedback to the animated movie.

Maybe we'll get another animated movie out of the deal.

Yeah, but the JLU episode was better than the animated movie

lol nope. The movie had many problems, but being bleak as fuck was not one of them.

I haven't seen it, any possibility of that happening disappeared when I heard that Will Smith would be playing Will Smith as Deadshot.

How much of a memefest is it?

I think the biggest flaw of the movie (which I honestly enjoyed) was that it was just a very standard movie. It didn't feel as different as it should have, and the humor bits from the reshoots were all very weak. It was clear the movie had a vision that it was steered away from, which made it at least a bit less interesting as a film.

Also some core parts of it were generic. There is a big blue space laser at the end. Only a few characters are explored much, and they didn't even do anything to hide who the "dies immediately due to head explosion guy" was (which they handled well in the animated version by giving everyone a similar amount of set up).

There is one scene everyone likes were all the characters talk for a bit, and it's well done and drops a lot of the quips and shit. If the whole movie was that, it would have been pretty bleak, but much more interesting.

Any truth to the 'It's basically just a live-action remake of Assault on Arkham' claims?

GET

There have been rumors saying that the movie was way more problematic and edgier Slipknot was implied to have been a rapist, Captain Boomerang would have been a Holla Forumsack and the Joker would have been more abusive. In the movie, he spends his very little screentime trying to save Harley - so much for him being built up as this edgy motherfucker.
All of these scenes were cut to make the movie lighter. WB would have to choose between a poorly-edited lighter version that can appeal to a larger audience or a version with clashing tones between light and edgy that would divide audiences at best, or alienate them at worst.

You know, it might just be me, but I can't really see warner making a movie like that.

I heard that they cut most of the Joker scenes because Leto's Joker didn't test well with audiences at all. They literally hated every scene he was in.

BvS was pure edge. There was not a single light-hearted moment in that shitfest, not even to clash with the overall dark tone.

Post more Plastique

I'm surprised they didn't play that up more.

It's nothing like a live-action assault on Arkham. I saw the movie. There's a bar scene where they could have easily had a lot more funny moments, but they throw away that opportunity to talk about a family being burnt alive. All the best """""""jokes"""""""" are pretty much in the trailer, because all the other jokes are trying really, REALLY hard to become memes.

What is a meme?

I feel like the term has lost all meaning in [current year]. Gone the way of "Trolling"

Personally I thought memes were kinda like fads they come and go. Like roflmao and how back in 2009-2009 it was used a lot now days it isn't. Same with Chuck Norris jokes.

The funny thing is that I can't remember a single comedic moment in the movie that wasn't in the trailers.

If you want porn of her user you have to make it. Make your dreams come true! No one is going to do it for you.

It lost all meaning before people even started tossing cuck, Holla Forums and SJW around at the drop of a hat. The internet is where the English language does to die

There is actually a joke in the trailer that isn't in the bar scene, because the bar scene was the only moment the characters got real. It's the one scene that Harley seems to drop the act of being a lol random idiot.

At the very least, OP could make a request (with more reference) in the drawthread.

It's always a word that's used by someone who's self-aware of what's going on. Eventually, everyone else catches wind of the word and start using it everywhere. Then it's original meaning is lost and it fades into the background permanently. I'm glad edgy and cuck are moving out of popularity, although I shutter to think what will replace them.

The buzzwords for 2017 will be:
Cornfed
Orgy
Fiscal
Brazilian

Appreciate them while they last.

reminder that a half hour cartoon show did -insert any movie based on a comic which also had a cartoon adaptation- better than the big budget blockbuster film.

The only cases where films are the best adaptation are where they're the ONLY adaptation, like Watchmen or V for Vendetta.

If either of these had gotten cartoons they would have been better.

But even vid related was a better watchmen adaptation than the film, if only because of the references to the book.

true. Actually we should enter even stuff like Robot Chicken parodies into competition with films, they'd probably win too.

Shit, you beat me to it. The part where Ozymandias catches the Comedian always gets me

My favorite part is either Rorschach with the dogs or

You forgot:
Wall
A
Build

why?

...

honestly speaking, I liked the movie better than the book
