I had to run errands today.
I said "Happy 4th of July!" to several people (some of whom I know as I bump into them at the stores I frequent, and some work there), none were rude, and all responded with a pleasantry "Have a good weekend!", "Take care!" etc. but literally no one said "Happy 4th of July".
I feel like when I was a kid, this day was more important. I would blame millennials, but was not wished a happy 4th of July by older people as well.
