When I heard that there was a going to be a slew of Hannah Barbera comics, including Scooby Apocalypse and the Mad Max-inspired Wacky Raceland, I figure the line of them were just terrible comics aimed at young kid comic book readers or the kids of comic book readers who tag along into the store. Not worth reading, is my point here. But I read The Flintstones, and I'm surprised at how…good it is. It's actually kind of funny, if you don't mind my recommendation.
But hold on one moment there, what kind of thread would this be to talk about a new comic and not actually show it? A bad thread, that's what! Here's Issue #2!
Oh, don't worry, the issues seem to be standalone, not part of a consecutive story. Like the episodes.

And that's that. I liked it. Oddly enough, one of DC's good titles has nothing to do with superheroes. But I hear Rebirth isn't so bad considering that New52 was terrible. Maybe this is the start and in 2 years we'll have good comics again?
Ayden Peterson
It's okay, but it doesn't really feel like the Flintstones. Storywise, it feels cluttered with the religion sub-plot and I think the story loses a lot without the original art-style.
Basically, the guy writing it needs to watch more Flintstones and caricature needs to come back to comics.
Nathan Hughes
Holy FUCK!!! That wasn't a shit fest.
Of course… now we've jinxed it.
Daniel Reyes
I see what you mean, some of the comedy comes from a more "adult" sense of humor, in the sense that it feels like the prime-time Flintstones show.
The team behind this need improve their time on the jokes and… the art, does not work at all. It's like we're watching something completely different, like a MadTV sketch.
Anthony Sanders
The talk of making extra pebbles makes me realize every survival game is, at it's core, Flintstones.
Shit, if they make a Flintstones survival game where you could just use animals as machines, that would be the best.
Nicholas Perry
This is the best religion.
Jace Ward
Alternatively, he could watch the Honeymooners.
Cooper Morgan
Okay, this is winning me over already.

DC's all ages comics are usually better than their mainstream stuff, mostly thanks to that sweet freelance talent.
Charles Robinson
So where's my edgy Banana Splits comic?
Michael Garcia

Chase Cox
Betty and Wilma are hot.
Evan Jones
The old Marvel Adventures line aimed at kids was pretty fun as well, though I'm not sure if they still do that anymore.
David Nelson
Was pretty good. Definitely more "adult" than the original, but not in the edgy sense.
The Power Pack line was perfect.
Parker Miller
How many trades or whatever did they make of that? I might finally get around to picking it all up.
Hunter Flores
I think each 4 issue mini-series has a trade.
Ryan Kelly
I wanna fug Betty
Angel Brown
you might be on to something, what if instead of trying to just kill animals to eat, you can actually tame animals, then by getting the correct components, you can then teach them to do certain tasks, like a monster with a shove like tail thats normally used to beat things to death could either be used as a digging machine to find ores, or even a lumber like animal to cut down trees if you sharpen an edge.
Samuel Jenkins
Im worried. If the cars arent moved by the drivers feet, then this is not Flintstones.

I'm not OP, but since he dumped the second issue i thought i'd help out and dump the first. Because… why not, right?

Dylan Watson
Well that was decent.
Juan Ward
the second cover with the camera is especially meta, it's so adorable, i love it! were fred and barney war vets in the cartoon too? i thought the water buffalos were a bowling club.
Carson Perez
Part of it felt good while the other part of it feels awkward and forced. It doesn't really feel like Flintstones and more like a less obnoxious version of whatever Seth MacFarlene was planning to make or an Adult Swim version of the Flintstones, and imo a more subtle version would've been better than this version which openly and loudly shows the source of the humor. Basically, it feels like Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon. The goat gag did make me chuckle though. More animal/appliance abuse is always appreciated.
This tbh.
Daniel Perez
Jesus, did the artist not watch the cartoons?
Also, where's everyone's five-o-clock shadow?
Angel Watson
Wait, what did he look like in the movie I never watched?
Michael Bennett
They were probably lazy and didn't want to draw detailed shaved faces.
Leo White
Surprisingly more accurate to the cartoon than this comic.
Henry Morgan
Tra la la tra la la la
Brayden Diaz
I know most of us have the same question, and since no one is asking I'll ask: why is Fred so darn handsome?
William Morales
Chuckle-worthy jokes in the first couple pages. These guys might actually know what they're doing.
Alexander Reed

Tyler Gray
Whoops. Must have had a brain problems this morning, yeah it actually does work correctly.
Lucas Anderson
This is now the thread theme.
I'm more concerned about how all the stone is passing underneath the rollers supporting the hamster wheel.
Xavier Gutierrez
It was decent, but it felt like it was moving too fast and that some jokes started, ceased to exist, and then we finally got the punchline later.
Eli Flores
I want to raid the town and capture Betty & Wilda.
Colton Evans
… Why you gotta be so REAL, Flintstones?
Ryan Murphy
holy shit those spears
Andrew Miller
masonry is a bad idea man
Brody Ross
You know, I was thinking that this whole time.
Benjamin Murphy
I see they go for a very M.A.S.H. or Scrubs approach of comedy throughout and then hit you in the human emotions when you least expect it. The handprints really are portrayed in a touching way, and in a very short and efficient use of words and images.
I might actually start picking this up.
Jose Wood
These two comics are actually surprisingly good. Certainly better than some of the other crappier comics that have storytimed (Pasty Walker, Jonesy, Mockingbird)
The handprint segment is actually a pretty nice moment.
Hand prints do actually have a basis in real life Stone Age cave painting/art, possibly as a form of "artist signature."
Slightly off topic. There's also a real life cave somewhere, where a "butt print" was on a wall with other cave art.
John Nelson
The first documented shitposting?
Tyler Edwards
I wasn't expecting decent humor and heavy social commentary from an edgy 2016 Flintstones reboot. Goddamn.
Evan Davis
The humor reminds me a lot of the old Dinosaurs show, the one with the Sinclair family.
Austin Brooks
THE FIRST user
Ryan Sullivan

Landon Mitchell
Cue Also Sprach Zarathustra.
You say your heard of Cro-Magnon?
Now are you prepared for . . .
Cro-user!
Evan Collins
But the Flinstones and Jetsons existing at the same time theory was soooo interesting!
Austin Flores
What if there's gonna be a jetsons comic that touches on that, and their scientists discover a great impending disaster that will wipe out all life on the planet, and by random happenstance the jetsons meet up with the flintstones and they all have to leave the earth before the catastrophe, and the only thing left of the jetsons is strange device full of sprockets sitting in the museum.
Nathaniel Ross
shiggy diggy?
Gavin Davis
This is a great start, but we're steering dangerously close to Wilma being the focus of the story instead of the whole family. She's had flashbacks in both comics now. I'll be just fine with it if it stays that way, kinda like Kyle's "You know, I've learned something today…" gay little speeches at the end of an episode.
Jason Watson
These are surprisingly good. I laughed several times, and while it is a major departure from the original art style, I like the art, and expressions. I especially enjoy Wilma, Betty and Pebbles.
Connor Adams
I WANT TO FUCK PEBBLES!
Caleb Price
Is this a departure from how you felt about Pebbles before, or no?
Juan Mitchell
It's confirmed to be in a past. Not necessarily the past of what we consider to be modern day.
Not gonna lie, I've never been into toddlers, but a teen Pebbles with that straight up but over the eyes hair is doing a number on my dick. It's like she's doubling down on the "innocent but sexy" look.
Nathaniel Wood
I greatly prefer nu-teen Pebbles to old-teen Pebbles. That weirdo haircut is like a dick vaporizer.
Samuel Ortiz
Je-zus christ.
Jace Watson
Tried drawing Pebbles, then tried drawing her from a more interesting angle but I'm shit at perspective.
Carson Miller

Juan Turner

90% of the time; a bunch of guys who get together, wear funny hats, do a few silly rituals and mostly just get drunk, eat donuts and complain about their jobs and wives.
Samuel Green
Weirdly enough, it's fitting too, given the concept seems basically to be creating mid-20th century American society from scratch, and getting to examine what things are like devoid of context in the process.
Aaron Murphy
They just invented monotheism.
Kinda funny that it pretty much illustrates how animism starts falling away when animals lose their mystery and wonder, but it's easy to believe anything about a god you can't see.
Ryder Taylor
I love how awesome artists are always so humble. You may think you're shit at perspective, but from our perspective, that shit is amazing!
You wanna see shit? Here's my caricature of Ms. Munter:
Wyatt Walker
Good artists become good because they're hard on themselves and want to improve.
Jace Taylor
Sounds like Far Cry Primal if the tameable beasts had uses outside of combat.
Carter Rivera
Kinda funny given the official crossover had the Jetsons live in the far future of the Flintstones.
It makes more sense in a cartoon-logic kind of way. Especially given the comic's premise is basically the invention of modern society.
It seems like the writers might actually have done a fair amount of research, or at least trawled Wikipedia articles on early humanity for ideas.
I wonder, are those kids in the museum based on anyone in particular? Feels like a place where you wouldn't wanna miss a chance for a cross-promotion/injoke.
Leo Richardson
You have shit taste fam if you think this is good
Nicholas Rodriguez
INDEED! Pretty much any version of Pebbles too. Why is there so little art of her?
Owen Phillips
I guess I don't think I'm shit at it, it just didn't come out how I imagined. I imagined the perspective even more forced. And I have trouble with it, which doesn't come across in the final image. Your pic gave me a hearty chuckle. I could tell who it was, even without the text, which is good for caricature.
This is correct. I don't think good artists should ever become complacent. They should always strive to improve.
I don't know, but I come to add more.
Nathaniel Miller
OH MY! John Byrne approves!
Owen Hall
...
John Price
Das it mane.
Justin Perry
Given the fact that it's a remake of a 60s show that was a mock-up of (at the time) modern life, I think the social commentary, occasional bit of heavy musing, and heartfelt message are all quite fitting.
If they just tried to directly copy the vague idea of what people think the Flintstones was, then this would suck. But I'd actually say this captures they real spirit of the Flintstones and it's tongue-in-cheek mockery of other TV shows and society of its time.
Wyatt Anderson
Yeah, pretty much. Besides, the original cartoon was pretty bland by modern standards and ran long enough to pretty much do everything to death.
Juan Edwards
One thing that's kind of weird, looking back on it, is that when I was a kid, I learned the concept of suicide from The Flintstones. I remember one episode where Fred stops a guy from killing himself by jumping off a bridge, and in turn the guy offers to become his servant. I think the guy turned out to be a nuisance, so Fred tries to fake his suicide to get even.
I hope The Gruesomes make an appearance in this.

Bees stuffed in a long snail shell?
Lucas Lopez
The water buffaloes was just a gentleman's club but real life a lot of those were originally veteran clubs that later expanded their membership.
Jose Hill
He still looks like a pissed off manlet what is the problem?
Anthony Carter
Is there any Flinstones watching guide?
What stuff should I watch?
Chase Gutierrez
you mean there's more than just the regular old show?
Liam Jackson
But do I have to watch the entire six seasons?
Oliver Phillips
The first three seasons are great, then it goes down hill a bit once Pebbles is born, but it's still good. The last season is when they introduce The Great Gazoo, an alien that likes messing with Fred, and it gets kind of stupid. Luckily it ended before it reached Simpsons territory.
There were some spin off shows in the 70s and 80s, as well as some TV movies and specials, but I probably wouldn't bother with them. They were all kind of bland and forgettable. Just stick with the original show.
I'd probably follow that up with the first season of The Jetsons, but only the first season from the 60s. They did a second season in the 80s, but much like the later Flintstones stuff, it was just bland and unfunny.
Noah Thomas
Rattlesnake it is!
For porn, I have a tumblr, but it is almost exclusively filled with degeneracy usually humanized mlp horsecock futa, last thing I did for it was a full color multipart futa urethra-fucking/oviposition set. Told you it was degeneracy. Simple loli is almost a breath of fresh air.
which booru?
not entirely happy with this new pic, I'm sure there's a number of anatomy issues. And I'm not sure how clear it is the rattlesnake tail is vibrating.

There are some spin off shows such as one about pebbles when she moves out of the house after college or is going to college. I don't really recall, I got sick during a marathon boomerang ran years back of all things Flintstones.
Colton Parker
the comics had some good reaction pics.
And wank material, apparently.
I don't usually like loli, but this really fucking hot
Daniel Lopez
God damn, of course the pony artist is really good at drawing porn. Do you actually like the show or do people just pay you to draw… full color multipart futa urethra-fucking/oviposition sets?
Cooper Carter
So hey, along with rattlesnakes, dishwashers make great sextoys too!
I do like the show, but I normally keep it to myself because pony fans are retarded. I mostly appreciate the art/animation involved in show, and the porn. I rarely do commissions they're tedious and I don't need the money; that full color multipart futa urethra-fucking/oviposition set was all my own degeneracy.
Brody Lopez
I'm going to assume this is how the dishwasher lost a tentacle.

Jack Martin
Because they are going for a realistic art style, and they needed Fred to look like a bulky, barrel-shaped caveman. The Kentlike square jaw is just a bonus.
If you notice very few men in these primitive times arent built like a tank, and I actually like they went this direction, idunno. Its a fresher interpretation, if anything.
Jackson Perez
uuuggh
Kayden Cooper
I wish to know where I can see said degeneracy
Brody Brooks
Other than the usual reasons, you know that they limit image resolutions to 1280x1280 and have a shit tagging system and not being able to separate personal art and reblogs when you follow them?
Andrew Sullivan
Does fit, given he works at a quarry and is a war veteran. He always was a pretty imposing figure compared to everyone but full on strongmen. Hell, the movie had him be a dead ringer for the setting equivalent of James Bond, who had ladies all over him.
The movie went for him being a fat slob instead, but this version seems to fit the comic style much better.
Joseph Flores
(talking about the animated TV movie in the first case, the 90s live action movie in the second)
Jonathan Russell
I'm not him, but he goes by highwaytotartarus. I found his art by searching "oviposition" on derpibooru and it was the first good art I could see.
Lucas Clark
Oh Internet, when will you stop being so creepily effective?
Benjamin Lopez
Yeah, I know tumblr is a shitty site for uploading art, but that's where everyone (mlp porn artists) was uploading to, so that's where I upload, as well as Hentai Foundry, and pixiv for stuff I can't upload on tumblr or HF.
see Highwaytotartarus is indeed my tumblr. I didn't want to advertise it because I didn't want to look like I was shilling myself or trying to take over the thread

Ryan Sullivan
Guys, I don't know, but I think I kind of really like this comic. I wasn't expecting all the dark humor in issue three, but it made me chuckle.
I really wasn't expecting them to bring in the Great Gazoo so soon.
Connor Ross
Looks like a pretty different take on him.
And hey, it wouldn't be cartoon ancient history without aliens fucking around with people.
Connor Hall
I don't, this is really too dark for Flintstones, I like the previous issues' tone better.
Jonathan Jackson
Why is she so perfect, Holla Forums?
Tyler Jackson
Well shit. I can never look at anything in Flintstones the same way again.

Jaxson Morgan
Gotta wait another month, since the latest issue only just came out yesterday.
Kevin Bell
It's not so bad so far. I am worried though that it will eventually forget it is supposed to mostly be a funny show about cavemen, and everyone will lose interest
Easton Murphy
…also, I can remember a very well done Star Trek / Flintstones crossover called Stone Trek, from back in the day. Wonder if there's any more been done on that?
Cooper Morgan
Fucking Major Tom, I love this comic more and more with each passing issue.
Connor Brown
Personally I like it. For subject matter like this, I prefer the dark humor take on it. It's also been an actual build up to this. The first issue was mostly light with some darker stuff in, the second a little moreso, the third is almost pure dark humor and it works really well.
Really a shame that all the major sites like Newsarama fucking hate it both because NOT MUH and because they're literally too stupid to actually get the satire (I mean it; the Newsarama reviewer outright said he didn't understand what exactly was supposed to be satirized with Joe in this issue).
Nathaniel Evans
Archive and link it mate, I need a good laugh before bed
Asher Perry
what exactly was satirized with joe?
Connor Stewart
That doesn't really surprise me. I haven't been to that site in like 5 years, and I remember them being absolute garbage then.
Much like video game critics, comic reviewers generally have no idea how to review things. Instead of looking at the actual quality of something, it's always about how they "felt" about it and their emotional reactions. For instance, they'll call a book's writing bad if it offended them, but they rarely talk about writing from a technical standpoint, like if a story has poor pacing.
Well the stuff with the royal order of the water buffalo is a pretty clear shot at situations when soldiers return from war (Vietnam being the most famous example) and end up homeless, suicidal, and spit upon.
Kevin Young
The writing the art and the humor are all surprisingly really good, I like it.
Daniel Morgan
It's satirizing the way we act like veterans are heroes and then toss them away unceremoniously.
Liam Rogers
Silly idea, but what if that caveman is the caveman Scooby Doo and the gang find in one of their mysteries?
Aiden Jackson
The TV movies about Bang Bang and Pebbles marrying and having children was nice in my opinion.
Jaxson Torres
This one panel is better than practically everything Marvel has put out in the past few years.
Dominic Russell
Tell my wife I love her.

No. They did it for SCIENCE!
Lucas Jackson
Uh okay, i thought that this was a reference to some obscure american show and not more general thing. I have never heard about vets being treated like shit in my country. Yeah they want more money but so does everyone
Bentley Nguyen
You live in a country where returned servicemen aren't marginalised, neglected, and called babykillers? You mustn't of had a vibrant 60's counterculture fuelled by Soviet fifth column agents provocateur.
Levi Bell
Well, at least Joe got what he wanted
Easton Smith
There's something oddly TF2 about these comics.
…now picturing Stone Fortress 2. Oh Ralph it writes itself.
It's mostly an American thing, but popular in any country where social safety nets are considered a sin against the capitalist God but they glorify war so they can get idiots to die for profits.
Jonathan Allen
Look up "VA scandal" on any search engine for a small glimpse of how bad it is for US servicemen who have need of health care after their service.
Simply being shot takes years and years of physical therapy to recover from, and you're almost never back to 100% after it.

That fucking sucks. I think it's one of those things that most people don't like to think about though. I've had a few friends go off to fight, and I know it takes a toll on them even if they don't get injured physically.
Daniel Reyes
Luckily for him his old address was our parents and he was near enough to pick it up when it came, but it took him months to get them to fix it.
James Rivera
One thing you have to understand is in the U.S. there has always been a real schism about the military. The right sees them as being heroes in general, and while they do help some it's mostly in the form of charity work like food drives and the like. The left on the other hand demonizes the military vehemently, during the 1960's college liberals even got the military kicked off the Harvard campus. If you are part of the military, you can't attend harvard. It was at it's worst after Vietnam though, soldiers returning were treated horribly. Sage for off topic

That's because that has been the exact tune "modern" art has been playing for nearly a century. Art schools are no longer about aesthethics, quality of craft or execution in delivering a message. It's always about "how do you feel about this piece?", which is one of the main causes of the shitshow that is the modern art world
