The Socialism of "National Socialism" has to be understood with the concept of Volk and Volkism.

According to Volkism, a people forms an single entity, like a person. When a people is united, working for the same goal, they are a force that is more than the sum of its parts.

I think there is some truth to this.

In fact the Nordic model that existed and finally died in the early 70s was almost a perfect copy of national socialism only rebranded as social democracy.
