I recognize this picture. These are Warren Jeffs' wives from the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They are the most notorious LDS group practicing polygamy, though far from the only one.

Polygamy violates orthodox Christian doctrine, but doesn't violate the natural law unlike homosexuality. Frankly I admire the fundamentalist Latter-Day Saint lifestyle, which is very reminiscent of Amish and Mennonites. Wholesome antique, modest dress, strong social mores, and well-formed morals. But polygamy is so alien to the modern West that their very traditional society, which practices it openly and proudly, looks surreal to us. I am not LDS, but if Mormonism has any upside for us it'll be found more in unreconstructed LDS which does practice polygamy, rather than the monogamous mainstream, as we learned in the Utah caucus.

In most populations, the ratio of men/women is 49.9%/50.1%, so nature has shown that men shouldn't have to fight over women, and that men don't typically die at a faster rate than women. But in high mortality situations, such as we are entering now with the introduction of immigrants by the Jews into white nations leading to conflicts, there can be more women available than men. In those situations ONLY, polygamy can be a solution.

Mormon's recognize this, and thus polygamy is not commonly sanctioned by the Church, rather only outliers practice polygamy. Mormons are not the problem, but their polygamous outliers are like law-breakers, pushing the envelope because they can get away with it at a time when polygamy only upsets the natural coupling balance of human society. There is no need for polygamy unless the ratio of available to available women is skewed towards women.

The Mormon can be pushed to deal more harshly with polygamous couples, if need be, but that's not what this thread's about, is it?
