Name the battle that saved Christianity?
Battle of Tours (French Victory).
Name the battle that defined Europe?
Siege of Orleans (French Victory).
Name the battle that defined North America?
Siege of Yorktown (French Victory).
Then everyone here tells how great Germany was to fight England and Russia for 3 years…
When France fought against EVERYONE from Spain to Russia, from 1625… to 1870, often on five or six fronts at the same time (France is right in the middle of western Europe. You want an example of what happens to a country surrounded by powerful enemies? Check Poland history for the same period. Then realize that France at that time managed to GROW).
And won most the time (including the ridiculous Napoleon campaigns, raping coalitions after coalitions… it's like if Germany managed to win against the allies so badly they sued for peace… FIVE TIMES IN A FUCKING ROW).
France military history is the most successful on the planet.
Which is why it was such a shock at how easily the 3rd reich won.
Except nobody realized a fucking important detail.
France at the time of WWII was led by a literal Socialist Jew.
While the military was extremely nationalist conservative. And so the leader of the french high command quickly and on it's own (he tricked the parliamentarians into thinking it would just be talks and no decisions would come out of it) went and ask for a peace treaty after the "German overwhelming push" that the french high command "didn't saw coming"…
Upon which Germany said yes, and the "defeated" french high command ended up with total power of France…
That's a fucking complete taboo, worse than the holocoaster, there is no historian that has ever written anything on that. There are some tidbits here and there (notably on Petain not being given mandate to sign anything, just to negotiate).
Despite being a fucking fact that the french high command loathed it's government, openly, and that nearly all the military had sympathy to the fascists (THEY LITERALLY BECAME THE FASCIST GOVERNMENT OF FRANCE).
Then you have Hitler "mysterious" conviction that the french had left the Sedan gap open and would surrender quickly. (which baffled the German high command)
So here's a real question Holla Forums… was the french military defeated in WWII?
Or did it go exactly according to it's plans?
