If you add up the total revenue produced by each super hero franchise and film and contrast it against any other genre, it surpasses them all. Comparing the money made is the only objective measure available for determining the success of films. As stands, the success of the super hero genre can't be matched by anything else by a long shot. As such, super hero films will continue to be made for many decades to come up to the point we're all gray and elderly. I'll be quite happy about that.
