Teen Titans

How about a thread about the original Teen Titans show? Favorite episodes and scenes, or maybe some things that the show could have done better?

Or the inevitable conversation about Raven or Jynx.

I loved this show. But I always felt after the Trigon story arc the show peaked. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the arc with Beastboy dealing with his own past and fighting the brain but I don't think you could top the team fighting Trigon.

I actually prefer Brain and Brotherhood of evil as antagonists. I don't really see that much interesting in "all powerful entity" like Trigon as a villain, which is why I appreciated that focus of that season was on Raven's struggle against inevitable, instead of actual fight with him. But as far as having a fun villain to have confrontation with Brotherhood is really good - diverse cast of fun villainess figure with interesting powers and somewhat of love letter to golden age, that synthesized voice of Brain sold it to me alone.

I can see that. The Brain is a fantastic villain, I guess I'm more used to shows constantly upping the ante after each season. I also liked how personal it was for Beast Boy and to see a bit more serious side to his character.

I think I must have subconsciously felt the same way too because I noticed, wanting to rewatch the series, that I never bought the fifth season DVD or the movie.

Yeah, I can see your point too - most of titans got captured and brotherhood teams up with every prior enemies of Titans was hype as fuck, but impact somewhat diminished since it can't compete with actual end of the world. I guess I agree that Trigon season should have been the last, but only if seasons after that played out before it, basically 1->2->3->5->4

I think another issue is how every character except starfire got their own arc with a villain. It just seemed weird to me. But then again, you could argue the episodes with blackfire dealt with that.

The way I see it Starfire has her ark, it just scattered among all seasons. I didn't felt that she was an undeveloped character.

how do you guys feel about the movie then? for me the only thing keeping my interest was seeing robin and starfire finally get together.

I saw it only once but I remember liking it well enough. It's not the best that was ever done on Teen Titans but it's certainly not bad. Although, Brushogun is not a word that would ever be in Japanese, which flared up my autism.

WHEN THERE TRABUUU YOU KNOW WHO TO CALLLLL

TEEN TITAN

Does anyone know what plans they had after it was revealed Terra was still alive? Also I remember hearing they would reveal Slade's identity or something does anyone have any source on that?

I don't think they actually had any plans

Damn, that's a shame. I heard rumors for stuff they had for season 6. Guess it was bulk after all.

Wil Wheaton said they did. The story editor said they didn't. I believe the story editor

I should've known.

OH MAN, WHOEVER COULD HE BE

I heard it was going to be different from the comic and that Slade Wilson would be a different person or something.

So is fucking beast boy bestiality?

only if he transforms into an animal.

And paedophilia. Because he's Beast Boy

Well he's technically a teenager so it's a murky grey legal area.

Isn't he the youngest of the Titans? Who are about 16 at the oldest?

Yeah, that's still illegal

I guess. I just find the whole age of consent laws really depend on the person. That and they shouldn't be used on an 18 yr old fucking a 15 yr old.

Well, legally, if the Titans were all to fuck each other there wouldn't be any legal problems. Close in age exceptions. But if the Justice League were to fuck the Titans, there'd be trouble.

Fair enough.

What was in the briefcase Holla Forums?

BOOM

Someone say Raven?

Maybe this is a common opinion, but Teen Titans was best written when it got serious. Slade episodes got most of that.

...

First the dumpfags come, then the artfags and writefags follow.

post some loli raven

you DO know he was the voice of aqualad, right?

I think my favorite episode is the one where cyborg goes undercover. he shows how loyal he is to his team and how brilliant he is. plus, i love the twist for how he was able to defy brother blood
from the episode where starfire got sent to the future

...

same person as this

for what they could have done better

Yes, but that was back then before I knew about all the sjw stuff.

This why modern comics suck.

With how personal it was to him, it probably was some sort of object to remind him of his parents.

What I posted was all I got, sorry.

They played his true identity up as a mystery and then quietly dropped the whole thing. It was a little jarring.

I remember all those retarded theories about how it is secretly Alfred or Batman.

if you are saying that robin isnt that strong in the comics I think I can pull up a few strength feats

...

Not that user but he would of busted his knuckles at least.

Ah who gives a damn

So, best question: Was there a Justice League in the Teen Titans?

Do you mean when the Titans had never met him before and didn't know who the fuck he was?

One of the criticisms I had with the show is that most of the fights were usually one villain for the whole team. You did see some even match ups, but that was uncommon especially in earlier seasons.

Wil Wheaton voiced aqualad? No wonder why I always thought his voice made him sound like a pretentious dick all the time.

Did anyone read the comics they made for this? Are they any good?

Yeah. The cartoon got me interested enough to buy the TPBs of the Judas Contract and Terror of Trigon. Plus I got a smorgasboard of New Teen Titans (1981-82 then picking up after ToT in like 1985) in loose issues (they were in my local shop's back-issue bins for $2 each…)

The comics are good if you're a fan of the characters and want to see more of them, but they're all very different. Raven is not the snarky sarcastic girl the cartoon made her, Starfire is not Ms. Sweetness and Light, Cyborg is a lot more serious and a lot less BOOYAH; plus Donna Troy and Wally West are major characters so it's not just the cartoon cast. But the old comics are good in their own right… you just have to accept that they're old comics. They're gonna be kinda cheesy. There's still a lot of cool shit though: Paradise Island/Themyscera is a major locale and the Titans actually fight "the Titans of Myth" (as in, the parents of the Olympian gods) a few times; Deathstroke/Slade is a very different character, less an arc-villain and more of an anti-hero who's a constant thorn in the Titans' sides.

Also Beast Boy's Beast can't be fucking contained, he flirts with everything on two legs it's great.

I wasn't talking about the original comics. I was more talking about the comics they made based on the actual show. The older comics have always been kind of hit or miss with me.

Woops.

It's ok. I won't bully you to much.

I want to tenderly love Raven.

I was always torn between her and starfire.

It'll always be Babs

They're all right. They're as good as any tie-in comic really could be.

I never understood the appeal. She's grey.

She's also very moody. Oh, and you don't want to meet her father

>implying girls with daddy issues aren't the easiest to lay next to Catholic girls, that is

Thing is though, you can't fuck her. Due to the nature of her powers, if she feels anything she'd probably end up killing you

...

Then what's the point of fucking her? You might as well fuck a doll

Dolls aren't as warm.

They sell warm dolls

That was one of the things that always weirded me out. They always tried to find his name and all I could think is they know his first name so how hard is it to find out his second. Later I found out they were told they could not use deathstroke.

Another thing I thought was kind of weak in the show is how fast Terra becomes a massive cunt to all of her old friends and people she supposedly cared for.

She probably has a soft side though.

They should have included rape in Starfire backstory tbh.

No they didn't, they knew his name. The reason they wanted to know 'who' he is is because he was fucking with them from behind the scenes, sending Cinderblock and Plasmus to fuck with them, sending the HIVE Five, sending Thunder and Lightning to fuck with the city, and all this time they'd never met Slade face-to-face, they just knew his name. They wanted to know who he was and, presumably, why he was fucking with them.

Dan Dere?

wouldn't fly on a kids show. although i'm sure you can find some porn of it. also nice pic user.

You're right, it'd be some kanji linguistic pun if they didn't put the two languages in a blender.

Didn't that only apply before a certain point in the series?

I think after they killed Trigon she could start to feel emotion without risking reviving her father.

I just learned about how the voice actors for this also apparently shit on the old fan base and people who dislike TTG. How did they become such faggots that quickly.

Sauce?

Huh. I thought she gained better control of them after that mirror incident.

Money

Batman's raised eyebrow is a nice touch

...

No

It's been a long time since I watched it but from what I remember Raven keeps her emotions in check because a great outpouring of emotion would unleash Trigon, her father who is basically Satan. So she keeps her emotions under control. When they finally beat Trigon in the fourth season, she no longer has any need to keep her emotions under wraps.

They also sort of fucked up because they didn't have her wear her white cloak all throughout Season 5 and the movie. The white cloak indicates that she's been purified of Trigon's influence. It made appearance I think once every season until about season 5.

I wish there was more porn of Terra

I liked that episode where Starfire got hobbit feet.

I dont know why but I thought it was hot how her long thin legs had these fuck huge feet

...
