The far right will never win the presidency, simply because the French are much more ideological about politics than some other countries, like Austria. It was a choice there between patriotic party and the greens, but the greens barely scraped through (fraudulently?)
People would much much much rather vote for someone they hate than let the far right in, which is why it will be 2002 all over again each time Marine gets first position in the first round.
Ideological lines are extremely entrenched in French politics, and unlike in many countries, there is genuine hatred between groups, not just angry rhetoric.

There are a variety of ways we can still win. Electoral politics is always a shitshow, an FN presidency is no guarantee it would actually get anything useful done. It would probablt ensure we're better off when the war kicks off than without it, which is why I support the FN. Ideologically they are compromised though. I'm no purist.
I honestly believe at some point we'll have a military takeover. The military are overwhelmingly "right wing" and have done putsch attempts in the past (1889, the Algeria crisis), but if not we'll have to weather the Civil War all the same.
I'd agree if "no radical change" meant that nothing drastic could be done after the point of violence escalation. Ethnic civil wars tend to be fanatically brutal, and if it came to that I have no doubt ethnic cleansing of invader populations would occur. We'd like to obviously prevent that though, by getting them to leave semi-voluntarily with minimal violence.
