You start out from nothing, and you return to nothing. That is, if you do nothing.

But life isn't doing nothing, that's death. It's very possible to be dead, while still alive. Life is transformation, for the better, or for worse. Transformation for better or for worse is always trouble, life is trouble.

So you can choose between better, good and perfect - or the opposite. Both require the same amount of effort.

The goal in life is to discover what good, better and perfect are. People have written about it in all ages and cultures, but it's something you have to DO, not just read about. Just like Hercules in ancient Greece, you too must complete your work, if you want to find eternal life.

Both eternal, absolute life and eternal, absolute death exist. They don't differ that much, because eternal life to us mortals, is nonsensical: for us, everything that's valuable comes with growing pains, challenge, risk, limitations. Take those away and eternal life becomes boring. Gender, nation, age, place and time, ego… all gone.

Most people don't find the gate to eternal life, because they don't look, don't know how or where to look. They end up dead. That's what they've always been.

Those few that do manage to find the threshold are confronted with the guard in front of it: absolute evil, absolute death. Evil as big as the void in which our tiny universe is suspended. All cultures have written on it throughout history, gave it different names and shapes (dogs, goats, dragons,…). Be ready, it's more real than real, and it's coming for you.

Only after you defeat it, you'll enter. And when you do, you'll understand, no sooner. You'll see what people were thinking about, when they developed the alphabet, numbers, geometrical figures, why they wrote about grails, women and wine in their poetry. And finally, why it's much better to choose life over death.

Your soul is basically the energy that keeps your body active. When you die, the energy leaves and rejoins the world, since energy can never be destroyed, it simply transfers and moves or whatever.
So, that is my idea of the afterlife. Joining the giant pool of energy in the universe and eventually being passed around, like everyone who has lived, living or will live has and will be.
If you really think about it, you're prolly just the energy of anything and everything.

Depends on what America achieves in their plans for world dominance. You keep it clean and tidy but after a while you get lazy and make a mess everywhere. Backups are good. Some people remember it only when HDD crashes. A man of European ancestry puts a paper on a car - it's floaty and I see myself as 16 in a hallway in love with a girl like Allison Reynolds. Teenage rebellion is a myth pushed on parents starting in the 50's, and it's a self-fulfilling prophecy because it preaches that they should never have a strong hand in raising their children. To live life as long as I can and enjoy it as much as I can. My enjoyment comes from my principles, I am not a hedonist.
Nobody knows. There probably isn't an afterlife, but I am content with that. It doesn't make life any less meaningful, if anything, it makes it all the more worthwhile.
