Teddy Roosevelt was an old school progressive before the rise of the Soviet Union and communism. In modern times he would be considered a nationalist but the term nationalist wasn't even applied to politics back then because taking a stance against your own countrymen and your nation was considered treason. As a teenager Roosevelt was humiliated by bullies and his father was disgusted at how weak and pathetic his son was. Roosevelt travelled the world, learning boxing and worked as a rancher. He became a tough, strong man and along the way gained the willpower to become president.
