There are fighting everyday for 2 month now.

France, unlike pretty much everyone save Russia, has not one but two entire corps of dedicated anti-riot troops (over 20k cops, all specialist doing riot control this pretty much 24/7 all year round).
If they spent less time striking the government wouldn't be asking them to work a few more hours a week.

Goes with the strike thing. Everyone and I mean fucking EVERYONE in France has been part of a protest march.
It's extremely codified and organized.
And everyone knows how this works, and how that if you stay after the march, that when the cops starts to call for dispersion (on megaphones), you have to GTFO.
Nobody can claim innocence. Meaning that anyone that is still there after the calls is there to get into a scrap with the cops (which again in France is NOT seen as a really bad thing. But it's however seen 100% as a choice).
And of course it means that if you're there to fight with cops… you can't come crying after getting your ass beat.
So unless they kill a guy or go really overboard (and again french riot troops are professionals ass beater so it's extremely rare), nobody gives a fuck about a casual beating, save the usual leftist suspects (that have a horse in the race and everyone knows it too. It's been 70 years they're doing it).
So in short nothing is happening.
