Pornography and the Destruction of Masculinity

Hello Holla Forums,

Today I'd like to discuss the evolution of pornography and how its progression has lead to the deterioration of modern masculinity.

Long ago, pornography was relegated to the arts. Artists used their talents to explore what their idealized woman would look like, mainly to relieve their sexual frustrations as the alpha male farmers and steel workers took all the beautiful women to themselves.

These depictions of women were often crude, and not very representative of the real thing. As such, boys still developed healthy sexual behavior as they realized these paintings were not replacements for the women around them. The relationship between man, woman, and pornography was simple; man saw pornography as a way to see what they should desire in women, woman saw pornography as an ideal they should aspire to for men.

Unfortunately, this relationship came into question with the invention of photography. With photography, no longer did you have to fill in fine details of the art with the details of the women around you. You saw a woman for what she was in the photograph. As such, she was real to you. She replaced the women in your imagination. This would be the beginnings of what would begin to corrupt the minds of young men and women.

Flash to 1950s, with the beginnings of Playboy. Playboy provided a way to categorize the most beautiful women in America at the time. These women probably looked way more desirable than the women around you, but Playboy provided a good source of educating men into becoming alphas and suggesting how they can change themselves into being able to acquire the kind of women that graced the pages of the magazine.

Nevertheless, it began the process of perverting women. Seeing how the women in Playboy were so willing to bare themselves to the whole world, women began to believe it was alright to let themselves go and show off their goods to multiple men. Gone was the good housewife, faithful to her man. In came the housewife who cheated on her man with other men whom read the advice that Playboy gave them.

And so the sexual revolution began. This was bad, but not as bad as what was to come. Larry Flynt saw the monopoly that Playboy had on the pornographic magazine market and found that he could take away a significant share by introducing hardcore pornography. Magazines like Hustler had women with expressions of sexual desire. Of course men embraced this change; women looked like they were getting turned on, so we got even more turned on. But with this came the introduction of sexual incompetence.

By looking at women getting sexually pleasured by other subjects, whether themselves, other men, or toys, boys began to question whether or not they could actually get the girl to the same level of sexual ecstasy as depicted in the image, or video. These thoughts began to complicate natural sexual development, especially as girls also noticed this new area of pornography. Girls now expected men to make them reach the same level of sexual ecstasy as depicted in Hustler; if not, the men were worthless to them, even if this was their first time. Sex no longer was about the man's pleasure, which led to the women's pleasure. It was solely about the women's pleasure.

During this time, we also saw the introduction of the “sex symbol” and “pornstar”. These were women who, by the higher ups (wink wink) were advertised to be the best of the film and pornographic industry, further putting women onto a higher pedestal. Women were encouraged to be like these degenerates, having sex with all kinds of men as it will lead to popularity. Meanwhile, men still were held to the same moral standard of settling down and finding a wife. Slowly, society began to shift, shaming men for leaving their “perfect” wives, while championing women for leaving their husbands or not being bogged down by the shackles of marriage.

We also saw the ideals of women changing. Pornography introduced fake breasts and big butts to the impressionable minds of children. Because they needed to produce content at a rapid pace, they began accepting any woman who wanted to become a pornstar, and create new fetishes to keep men hooked. It was no longer about keeping women to an acceptable standard; women were accepted for who they are.

Videos, due to their nature, have become the preferred method of viewing pornography. Videos however, are faker than photographs, cut in a way that makes men seem like they need to have a stamina of a cheetah in order to make a woman cum. It is completely unrealistic, with sex positions that are made to show off the girl as much as possible with no care about the relationship between a man and woman.

And then comes the internet. The internet, as you may guess, has transformed pornography for the worst. Every disgusting fetish is now available at your disposal. Pornstars are being worshipped, and those who do not know a current pornstar or refuse to follow them are shamed by others. All while men are being shamed for developing this filthy content, even if they had no control over it. And now with smartphones, high schoolers are encouraged to create pornography themselves and continue to degrade themselves to the world.

So I urge you Holla Forumsacks, do not give in to the whims of pornography. Take control of your lives. Continue to educate yourself, and become the new ideal man that women look up to. While women may have been tainted by pornography, they will follow you if you ingrain the idea in their head that you are the type of man that they need to respect, the type that will give them the sexual pleasure they so desire.
