Its too taboo in respectable academia to the point where its pretty risky for people to talk about it too much outside of the accepted context (which does have a basis for its existence, its not like all of it is made up, even if there are myths).

The "Holocaust didn't happen" camp or "criticize it too much" are usually outside of respectable academia, and usually have political beliefs that serve to discredit their viewed in the eyes of the rest of the population (i.e. You're a nazi, your opinion doesn't count and your research is shit). Hopefully at some time in the future all the political implications of the holocaust will go away and cease to be relevant, and THEN people can study it in a neutral context leaving personal ideology at home, for all parties involved.

I disagree about the professors part, particularly because I've had professors (loads of Jews and a few ultra liberal non-Jews) pull that white guilt shit on me.

I am on the same boat with this one. I do object to the fact in the "Holocaust" the focus is just on the Jews when actual fact records show 11 million died in total in the camps, the majority of them were NOT Jews. The camps were basically on par with Soviet Gulags which don't seem to get as much attention, political prisoners and "enemies of the state" were rounded up and sent to these camps and in most cases, worked to death.

This is quite the complicated matter. I understand both people who claim jewish people are manipulative and those who do not.

I think the truth lies somewhere in between. There are quite a few scholars who have weighted in on the issue, and sadly anyone who even is critical of the jewish population is hated and demonized heavily through all kinds of institution. This removes the ability for an honest discussion.

I think its pretty clear that there is quite some controversy around the jewish population. But I do not believe we can demonize everyone who is simply jewish by birth. I don't think you can justify that.

However, it seems like the jewish population is often found to be quite backstabby and treacherous. I think in part it is because of their religion and culture where they claim to be the chosen people. This creates an ingroup-outgroup dichotomy, in which it can feel justifiably OK to screw over someone who is not part of your group. You see this a lot both in big cases and to a smaller extend in how they usually promote their own kind first.

Further I think there may be some genetic instances where they are simply more likely to be treacherous.
