I suspect their methodology could be a little out of date compared to the behavior of more modern bots. Those archives show Hillary's Real:Fake ratio has improved over time - I don't think the bots have suddenly become real people.

I think a smaller sample size (300) with a human making the final decision could yield good results, relative to Twitteraudits automated estimate.

Good idea. Would take a solid evenings worth of work but make a list of every follower you look at and whether its a likely sockpuppet or not. Then check for duplicate entries. Account for frequency of shill accounts.. As in there were 2 real accounts posting before this fake one. Then get the percentage of shills, adjust for total population and frequency and do a separate equation with the frequency ratio rounded down a notch then factor the two answers together to get your margin of error and we should have a very good estimate for the percentage of actual shills.
