From my understanding, Operation Disrespectful Nod/The Shekelshoah was/is focused heavily on Gawker despite applying to all SJW backed game journalists in other sites, for various reasons:
1. They were the primary instigators of Gamergate, leading up to M00t's betrayal.
2. They were more rash and open with their fuckups than any other target, culminating in…
3. Getting sued by Hulk Hogan for leaking his sex tape.
After some layoffs, corporate re-structuring, and at least $1M sunk as a direct result of Gamergate targeting their ads, they were in a position to get seriously wrecked by Hogan's lawsuit, in addition to others.
Smelling blood in the water, GG primarily focused on the rowdy giant whilst other targets like UBM fell by the wayside for being quieter and the potential impact to games journalism that would be felt if Gawker were to be thoroughly punished and made an example of.
Unfortunately, due to the large amount of foreclosures going on in Florida, the trial was postponed from July of 2015 all the way to March of this year and now, so activity sadly slowed besides a few events in between that time.
Now that Gawker is getting wrecked just in time for E3, my greatest wish is that digging and awareness on entities like UBM, Vox, Silverstring, DiGRA, and who knows who else will resume in a much larger capacity. Although, there are still some hurdles to take into account, but, here's a little something extra concerning UBM:
Allegedly, Leigh Alexander was a protege of an exec there, and that same executive is/was rather found of Anita Sarkeesian.
They are pushing for Social Justice on a "large scale", but not quite as big as, other more smaller groups when combined.
I need to look up more data on them and get specifics, unfortunately most of my data concerning them is disorganized, and on another hard drive. And like I said, these guys are not as dumb as Gawker; Silverstring in particular scrubbed some information off their site when the spotlight was being directed towards them before it could even be taken and archived from their site. Momentum on targeting them is best achieved when they slip up like they did before, and aside from Vox's Polygon embarrassing themselves with their coverage of Doom, they've kept relatively quiet and have held off on spreading their bullshit openly.
An additional note: IGN was part of newscorp, and Murdoch owns other media outlets that have slandered GG in the past, particularly in Australia, Italy and the UK.
You'd think that with San Francisco being a notorious hotspot for SJWs, there'd be a "web of connections" of sorts but I was informed that it's less of a huge "web of connections" and more: "hitting it off with a few other dudes in a bar once and they chatted and gave each other e-hugs or something-they're all just people who wanted to spend time together and didn't care about the rest"
I'm also worried about how Gawker could recover with Univision & Vekselberg eyeing them, as well as off shore account shenanigans, but I guess that's what we're here for with these bounties to really stick it to them.
It'd be great if we can muster as many enemies as we can with this. Such as:
