Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the point you're trying to make is that sometimes women aren't spared during war, and thus somehow my previous post is wrong. In response, I want to point out that women's evolutionary hardwiring didn't involve during a time when Total War occurred, and the type of weapons (the type that generate a lot of 'collateral damage') weren't the same. The only thing that really annoyed me in Fury was the ending. A single disabled tank literally in the middle of an open clear road somehow taking out probably seventy percent of a platoon single-handedly with no outside help, OK… That was ringing my bullshit alarms like crazy. But other then that I still thought it was a pretty ok movie. They're a lot of parts in it were I'm not sure if you're supposed to feel bad for the Germans or if it's just the generic war is bad m'kay message.

There's one scene in particular were a small band of hilter youths that are maybe eleven or twelve years old. Kill a tank with a Panzerfaust and are then all killed by everyone else in the armor group. The camera lingers on their dead bodies in an those damn nazis indirectly killing children and what not kind of way. Not even twenty minutes later there's another scene where the young kid of the main tank crew who's said to barely be eighteen. Refuses to kill a surrendered German and is then literally forced to do so by his commander (Brad Pit) while the German is yelling and throwing pictures of wife and children at them. This kid is barely any older then the Hitler youth members that where killed not even ten minutes ago. And the scenes played in the same kind of upsetting and unsettling tone.

Is this some kind of message of older people in this generation destroying the lives of children who barely understand whats happening around them for their own moral good? Is this maybe further enforced when at the end of the movie the kid of the tank crew who's now the only one left alive. Is found while hiding by another teenager who is around the same age on the German side and in a moment of silent understanding between the two of the bullshit that surrounds them lets him go.

Or again is it just some generic anti-war message?

Any other tribe who doesn't do this 'unloyal woman purge' shit will overpower your tribe and defeat you. And even if you had a tribe full of loyal women, upon defeat, they'd just be killed since they didn't defect. Say goodbye to that gene-line of perfectly loyal women.

Moreover, what the fuck is selecting loyal women supposed to do, as an advantage? The women are only assimilated into the invading tribe once they've won. Having loyal women before winning the invaders isn't going to do jack shit, since the women aren't the ones fighting the battle. If you win, you'll never notice the women were disloyal in the first place since they never had to defect. The advantage of selecting for that trait is only marginal. And the trait selection isn't based on the tribes genetics, its on the individuals genetics. Whatever helps the individual pass on their genes will succeed and prosper, invariably, by definition. It should be intuitive to see how a woman's genetics would have an increased chance of being passed on by being loyal to their tribe, but immediately defecting to the invaders when their tribe is defeated.

This isn't a matter of what anyone wants, it's a matter of fact.

I thought the interesting part of the movie is where they're driving into that German city and there are corpses hanging around saying stuff like 'traitor' or something similar. I don't know the extent that the Germans would kill their own citizens for not wanting to participate in Total War but it seems kind of sketchy. I'd like to know to what degree that actually happened, if at all.
