I gotta admit something, Holla Forums.

When Trump began talking about how he was going to bring environmental/geology jobs back to the US, how he was going to make policies dependent on the benefit of the worker, I nearly cried. I just got out of grad school with a degree in geology, and with how Saudi Arabia has been flooding the market and killing the petro-dollar the past year or so I've watched so many of my previous classmates go without work for so long, and those were the ones who were dumb enough to get 5 to 6 figure student loans. I managed to get research scholarships for my undergrad, and work hard as an RA for my graduate degree, and even though I'm debt free the future was looking so grim I felt like I wasted all those years for a future that wouldn't need me, a geologist who wants to expand our domestic energy sources. I just ended up sitting on a poor-paying lab tech job with no hope of an actual career lined up for me.

When Trump came along, I hopped on the bandwagon first for the memes. I thought "at least if Trump isn't the real deal, it'll be funny to ruin the society that has rejected me wholly after I've tried to help it". I liked that he was un-PC and it felt great to be pandered to. But this isn't just pandering anymore, he didn't need to keep talking about my state once he won in it. But he continued to mention how crucial winning every state was to his campaign, he remembered every single person and group who supported him and kept thanking them and being appreciative. Not one other candidate had done that. And now he's talking about bringing environmental jobs back to the US, clean air and water which requires geological groundwater monitoring, energy jobs with new drilling technology (one of my friends takes care of some of the new pads in the company he works for, he says they pack up in like a third of the previous time the old ones did), I no longer just feel spite that Trump is winning, I feel actual hope that he is going to truly make America great again. All I've wanted was to be useful and do the job I've studied to do and Trump is going to allow me to do that. I'm so happy.

Having the Federal government stop funding Universities could be a good step, as it'd probably force them to reduce investment in "professors" who teach the nonsense that would lead someone to becoming a reporter, as well as make them responsible for the actions of their students and faculty again. If a University doesn't provide the kind of intellectual space parents and children want, then that University goes out of business. People don't want Communist filth in their Universities.

That's because people don't feel hopeless in the US. We still largely believe things can change, and realistically they can, without any blood being spilled. In Europe, I doubt it. Well not the entirety of Europe, but places like Germany and Sweden aren't solving things democratically. I just don't see how that's possible. Getting money out of politics sounds well and good but the question is how. Most solutions that I've seen proposed are a form of public funding. The issue would be who would qualify for that public funding. I'd be willing to bet that if it was put into place they'd put in rules to make certain that someone like Trump never would so publicly funding elections would probably just permanently enshrine the current political class into power.

Well with voluntary programs you eliminate the bulk of the bureaucracy. The only way people are going to voluntarily give their money is if that money directly benefits the intended target group. No government waste and corruption. So it wouldn't be "throwing your money away." Also if it's local welfare that directly helps your white neighbor who was suddenly laid off and is having trouble finding work, and not some nigger in Detroit, it's actually doing some good. It benefits the community, as well as that individual. If that person receives some limited assistance until they get back on their feet, they then start paying back into the local school system; tending to the state of their home (protecting home values in the immediate area) etc. I'll never be for Federal welfare programs because they benefit minorities at our expense. But local voluntary programs, with very specific limitations and aims, can be beneficial. Our communities can be like mini-Swedens before the third world filth arrived. We look after our own and uplift each other, maintaining a standard of living that's high; a trust and love in the community etc. Plus no one receives more than they are able to put in, and no one takes out more than the community is able to put in, because everything is local and costs are relatively equal for everyone. So it's balanced.

The difference is, number one, Bush was a lot subtler about it because he is a slimeball that didn't really have the peoples' interest in mind.
