As someone making comics with artists out of south america and southeast asia, #1 there is the more important facet. Recent logic seems to be that because the eye trumps the brain visuals and outrage are somehow more potent than good writing. The thing is, outrage doesn't last forever, eventually it loses all significance because it's just more of the same every month. And, if the art also slips, you've got nothing.
A good comic has always been a hybrid between strong visuals and strong writing. If you don't have both, then you don't have a good story, and if you don't tell a good story you shouldn't be making comics.

-As if this wasn't leftist enough, he creates an alternate universe where Superman isn't just Black but is Obama, all the other super heroes are black, but the VILLAINS all stay white.

I didn't get that vibe from reading the New 52 Superman. How I understood it is that they pretended to be just friends, while Lois fawned over Clark. Shit, when she met Wonder Woman as Clarks girlfriend, she was jealous as fuck. Superman's plot didn't exactly revolve around saving Lois every couple issues.
Also the last 6 issues were Superman dying of Kryptonite induced cancer from juicing on it to get his powers back. While this could be SJW in the belief that performance enhancers are bad, it didn't revolve around his "heart" being his superpower.
Also New 52 Superman is now just Clark Kent, whereas pre-52 Superman is the main Superman.

The new black Power Girl is a legacy character and she only appeared in the new canceled Teen Titans comic. The old and white Power Girl kept appearing in Earth 2, which is still being published, and in several other smaller appearances like the mini co-starring Harley Quinn.
They introduced new characters as legacies while most of the times keeping the old ones, but i'll give you that.

The only new character was the Superman. Morrison's idea is that if Superman was black all the black established characters would have tried to be a lot more prominent. For example in the same universe Batman was white, because Batman never really had a black sidekick that could replace him.
I'll give you E2 Green Lantern and Batwoman, but Renee and Midnighter were simply new characters.

Steel is the PERFECT example of how to do a legacy character of a different race. People should freaking study The Death of Superman because I remember after that happened continuing to want to read Superman, but also wanting to read Steel and Superboy and see more of the Eradicator. The new take on Supergirl didn't work for me though.
Steel had an interesting and well-thought out backstory that tied him both to Superman and to American folklore with the "john henry irons" name. He drew inspiration from Superman, but was completely different from him in every way. He had a great costume, but he would never measure up to the original. He was unique enough that they could make a (albeit, completely terrible) movie about him without even mentioning a connection to Superman.
It wasn't just "remember that white guy you liked? Well I'm taking his shit now, yo! Hahaha!" Steel did his own thing as an homage to Superman. I loved seeing Superman, Steel and Kon-El team up.

Not only are 4channers incredibly stupid, they completely lack the ability to think for themselves. They see other people saying tumblr so they just start saying tumblr as well.
