Even if you had custom hardware, your ISP logs all the data (which you can encrypt) and IPs (which you can use TOR and VPNs), you may avoid dragnet surveillance but you end up on a watchlist (as well as all exit nodes you connect through), for more intrusive targeted surveillance

win 10 is probably the most latency friendly efficient os that has the best compatibility(present and future) with most programs, production and game-wise.

But there is the issue with data collection crapware shit, dackdoored encryption, disabling/uninstalling most of the crapware(windows apps/cortana, obviously) helps. Then there's telemetry services, silent updates with more new telemetry services with other ips. Modifying the hosts file doesnt work for many IPs(which also change all the time), there's hardcoded dll's that override blocked IP's in windows hosts files

The best method (not perfect) would be using a dedicated vpn server (likely linux based) with its own whitelist or blacklist between your win 10 computer and the internet or do the same with a VM
but since most of us are plebs if you have win 10 and dont know what im talking about or too lazy to do any of this (like myself), at least get spybot antibeacon and Ultimate Windows Tweaker to minimize the data collection.

the main reason i do any of this shit is to get the best performance out of my computer. Your bandwidth is being used for sending data, impacting network latency, and god forbid you have a metered network connection.
Your processor is being sapped so it can compress/encrypt the telemetry data you're sending for better cloud storage utilization, why would they compress it on their end, requiring massive processing power and network bandwidth when the computer can do it before they send your data? also many of the telemetry and data collection services have been ported to older windows versions (7, 8, idk about xp) through "security updates"
