I do think it's important to catch up on the rest of the comic as well, if only to see more of Willis' shameless projection. From what little I've read of Roomies!, I'd probably think this was, at the very least, comfy slice of life stuff that I could get into. Although, I was like 2 years old when this comic started.

Basic footnotes to keep in mind, if I'm correct, these take place at the same college campus Willis went to, and I will be including the descriptions of his reposts of these as early back as late 2012, but again, these comics are over a decade old.

This really depends- if I recall, the majority of transgender people don't actually have Gender Dysphoria, you're ruling out the possibility that Carla just browsed tumblr too much. We don't know what kind of "trans" Carla is, or what his motivation to identify as such is, but more likely than not he's still got the dick, or he could probably get away with sharing a room with another shiksa. For all we know, he hasn't even undergone hormone therapy or surgery of any type besides breasts. Actually, for all we know, the breasts might just be stuffing in his clothes. Best case scenario, he's just a confused boy (maybe not even homosexual) that wanted to express a feminine side and felt his only outlet was identifying as a girl altogether.

Holla Forums is consistently funny and they can poke fun at themselves. Holla Forums has no problem admitting they have an agenda against "degradation". They can get spergy and/or self-righteous, but not enough so to counteract the light-hearted humor aspect, in my opinion.

The tranny club sucks the fun out of everything. Everything must be serious and "empathetic". Trying to go back to the original topic is somehow derailment. They deny invasion or agenda pushing. I'd also say that Holla Forums doesn't really "invade" boards or derail threads, at least not to the extent goons do. This is in part due to the fact that most anons agree with them about at least a few things.

Dropping the second panel would work, but removing the speech bubbles from it would work better. Also I think expanding the third so the father isn't cutoff like that would help.

The second panel establishes a moment of quiet, where the mom has left earshot. It could be assumed that's the case, but establishing it also lets the characters settle on their thoughts a bit and consider what just happened without having to outright state anything. And even if the father's face and torso are mostly or completely blocked out by shadow in a lightless room, like say a bedroom late at night (though I think the lights are on) it'd help convey how serious this turn of events is. He's turning his back on her, literally and figuratively, and showing that little extra bit of graphic would help cement the mood.

I don't, have not, and will not follow this comic but this panel drew me in. The edited one, not the other. This one is much stronger, and it's a shame the creator of this story can't tell it to save his life.
