On Mint 17.3, adding this PPA, the trusty-media one, and installing the level 4 mesa update and mesa-vdpau-drivers-lts-vivid (YES, vivid, you have to install the one immediately AFTER your distro since it's a transitional package or some crap like that) got hardware acceleration working on my AMD graphics

Does anyone know of a way to make mpv start in a fucking maximized window? Currently using a Dexpot rule to do it, but it fails sometimes and a native solution would be much more preferable.
