if you only delete dead boards, you save Jim storage space and server, period. that's pointless.
to concentrate the userbase, you need a transfer from slow boards onto fewer, faster boards.
this involves closing barely active boards to push peripheral users into the hive and maybe consolidating some of the larger boards too.
Looking at this thread, I doubt that would go down well.
