you're kinda right but you missed the mark in the end.
the desire for relationships comes from a scarcity of women. when you are able to fuck women on a whim, you don't put them on the same pedestal that a man who doesn't get laid would. it's not necessarily ugliness that does it, it's sexual repression in general.
imagine being a dude from the 1800's. you're taught that sex is taboo from a young age until you get married. people weren't getting married just for the sex because that's blatantly retarded. however, sex is one of the strongest instincts we have. 1800's dude, in this case, would reconcile the taboo and the desire by replacing it with emotions like love. this way, everyone thinks they're being good, moral people.
in modern days, though, the "taboo" around sex is really just a way to weed out betas who have no rebellious spirit.

I feel that I have yet to meet a female that I knew right off a relationship with her would be a net positive for my life. I've met a best friend, I know what it means to "click" with a person. However, as far as playing the field and going out is concerned? I'm completely disinterested. Rednecks, niggers and douche-bags elbow to elbow at the bar. I'd rather stay home, in my domicile.
