Computers are going to end the world.
Automation of menial jobs will lead to most of the first world being unemployed and the majority of people spending most of their time at leisure. Eventually the only needed work would be to develop more workers, -assuming that's not automated itself since robots can do the jobs we don't or do want to just fine.

Subnote- at some time we will almost certainly have to become a socialist state as the average man goes out of work and the market is controlled by tech giants- some way were people have mobility to choose while not having any money. I'm not advocating for this, but I'm almost certain it will happen.
Now this future sounds like a utopia- having all the free time you want, being able to consume as much as you like, living a life without a worry in the world- however, like most fantasized utopias, this will not be the case, and we will not be happy.

I base most of this conclusion on The Unabomber Manifesto linked above Which is a great read btw go check it out
Wherein he concludes that:
1) The Industrial Revolution has stolen all agency and autonomy from the average man, such as man being micromanaged or backed to a rigid, inhuman standard.
2) People will enjoy surrogate activities to try to reclaim their lack of purpose (Surrogate as in collecting stamps or biking across the country) these can extend into solving problems that don't exist see: The Modern Left and general feelings of inferiority when their reason for life is never found.
3) Lack of purpose is bad for humans. Lack of purpose will lead to suffering.
Loss of work for the average man will remove from them any purpose that they still had left, I shouldn't have to say why this is a bad thing. The whole of humanity will be hollow and we'll come to see those worlds such as those in Fahrenheit 451 where everyone just wants to die.
Critique my theory protip- you probably can
