That's the point, isn't it?
If you own a chair, you can do with it what you want. You can sit on it, sell it, replace the legs - you don't have to ask anyone.
If you borrow a chair, you can't. You can use it, as long as you do it safely, but you can't give it away or modify it.
If you own a copy of free software (as in freedom), you can do with it what you want. You can use it in any way, study it, change it, give it away, even sell it.
But if you "own" a copy of non-free software, you're not allowed to do more than use it, and there are limits even to that.
You can't own software unless it's free.
tell apple that
Why should I? They already know.

Either that or a Thinkpad
Oy Vey Jewidia GTX 980
actual question:
are there ANY valid alternatives to Nvidia and Radeon for vidya GPUs?
Toe jam
The human imagination.
What's the worst thread on the board right now?
It's this one
My Thinkpad that'll thankfully soon be replaced by the proper ultrabook my new job is gonna pay me.
A computer
a managed switch
Intel APU
a dakimakura
depression and a superiority complex
Intel HD series GPUs are adequate for a lot of mid-range games nowadays, some lower-end Intel Atom boards use Mali GPUs that is only good for Android games since Windows has limited OpenGLES support and GNU/Linux has pretty much fuck all OpenGLES support
As for the most Holla Forums thing, a ThinkPad X201T hands-down.
As for the most cool piece of tech I have, it would have to be my dual-CPU desktop "server :^)"
A few things I guess:
a bitscope for reverse engineering protocols on the physical level.
a flashcat for usb jtag stuff.
multiple single board computers and microcontrollers
8 computers with plan9 making a cluster.
crippling depression and a neckbeard.
Forgot to mention my rtlsdr as well. That's pretty Holla Forums

A complete collection of BYTE magazine from the 70's-80's.
All true, but he refers to broader ideas of information - you don't own software, software is information, not something that has to be distributed and held in exclusivity by principles of scarcity; you know software.

Computer.
a bunch of broken Tails DVDs that I'm too paranoid to throw away
Librebooted x200
I will NEVER understand this board's obsession with Thinkpads
It's not that hard to understand: cheap enterprise-grade machine that can run Linux well, has a good battery life and is the toughest short of an actual toughbook.
If it was good enough for NASA, then it's good enough for you.
Also. Memes.
RJ-11 / RJ-45 cable crimper
Octagon XE 800 industrial soc, I have it set up as a mostly non-invasive Linux machine.
Tried a shitty micro linux on it, the gcc package wouldn't even compile for the retarded geode cpu. Probably going to bite the bullet and install debian
Tough computer that's pretty widely available.
tough, cheap, long lasting, easy to maintain/upgrade/repair..
And lots of libreboot support.
A 64 gig encrypted usb with TAILS.
Good keyboards.
gender changer for VGA
Intel HD has come a long way in performance, and they have good open source driver support
Its funny because Intel HD GPUs are on-par with some of the lower to midrange dedicated AMD cards even though it doesn't even really try to be, and has better open source drivers
Great post user. You've opened my eyes to discern the vile existence that is proprietary software.
My router and managed switch
$2000 mil-spec IMU/AHRS sensor
Received as part of a grant for my thesis research, but didn't get used. I don't think it's ever been powered on.
Pick one, fag. Get a real GPU.
You can find them in dumpsters and ebay for cheap, perfect for jobless losers that circlejerk over meme distros all day instead of seeking employment.
Its not 2009 anymore fam, Intel GPUs are pretty fucking powerful for iGPUs, in fact, Intel 8th gens kick AMDs APUs iGPUs ass
I main on a laptop fam
It's like poetry.
Laptops come with real GPUs too. No excuse.
Do you know how i know you still live at home and dont pay bills?
why the fuck does your router have a disk array?
