Okay, umm…

Sometime around when I was about 15 or 16, I was really fucking depressed, mostly because I had no love life, and my own life was incredibly boring. My grades, I think at that time, were also slipping. I guess I could describe my mental state as way up in the fucking clouds at that point. It was also probably the only point in my life where I was seriously contemplating religion.

So one day, I'm sitting on my bed, feeling like shit and contemplating my non-existent love life at the time, and I hear a voice in the back of my head. It is distinctly not mine, and also female. She tells me it would probably cheer me up a bit if I killed the spider in the corner of my room in an interesting way, noting a sword I got for Christmas a year or two ago. So I do just that, and low and behold, I'm feeling slightly better. Not because I've somehow solved the problems in my life, but because that was legitimately fun to kill a fast moving spider with a sword.

So that done, I lay back on my bed, and this thing that had talked to me a moment ago just sort of visualizes herself in front of my face. She's an angel with pink hair. I ask her the obvious question: "are you an angel?" She answers something along the lines of, "I've been called many things in the past. Angel, fairy, you name it…" I can't remember the exact details of our conversation that follows, except that I think her purpose was to bring me out of this state. I had hugged her, and it felt like basically the air was hotter and more pressurized around where she was.

Now, it didn't take long after this for my rational brain to kick in. She COULD be some sort of ethereal angel, but the more likely possibility was that she was in my head. So I asked her to do a few things that would basically prove she wasn't in my head. First, to try speaking to me in a language I didn't know. She couldn't do that. Second, to go into my mother's room and tell me what channel she was watching. She couldn't do that either. Clearly, she was in my head…

But that didn't cause me to stop talking to her, it only changed how I perceived her. This was some part of my subconscious that wanted me to be happy, so damnit, I was going to be happy. It was only a year after meeting Kami that I ended up finding myself a girlfriend. Funny story, the day before I met the girl, Kami asks me, "what do you want in a girlfriend?" So I list some traits, and she tells me, "be careful what you wish for." The next day she points out the girl in my class and says, "that one." It ended up being a mistake that we both regret, but I guess I have a few new life experiences because of it?

Anyways, she's someone I just talk to every so often these days when I'm feeling bored or lonely or stressed.
