I declare this to be a Bob's Burgers thread

I really don't understand all the hate for Bob's Burgers here. The first 3 seasons I thought were good. After that it started to lose its touch, but its still not a bad cartoon. Do you hate it because ledditors love it? Are you one of those guys who hates Rick and Morty just because leddit loves it, too?

Also, please explain why you think its "tumblr trash", because I cannot for the life of me figure out why you would associate this show with dumblr.

The animation is awful and the jokes are stale. If it were funny the animation would be excusable, but it's not. Every part of this show I've seen has been about as funny as Friends, or How I Met your Mother. They actually share a lot of overlap when it comes to fans, too.

Bob is honestly my favorite character in this show. The way he quips or reacts to dialogue appeals to me more than most the other characters.

The characters aren't like Peggy in any way; they're playful and can laugh at themselves.

It's worse, the dad is the writer's stand-in, he's the personality-less straight man to every oh-so-wacky character they introduce.

Bob's Burgers is the new King of the Hill, only not as good because it's 2016 and nothing is as good as the version of what they are that came before them. It's the same formula except with more zaniness.

The only likeable, sane character is Bob.

Linda is Peggy only even more unlikeable and bad to her husband than Peggy is.

Bobby's goofiness, scheming and social akwardness is split among Gene, Louise and whatever the glasses one is called.

Bill is Bob's fat friend that idolizes him. Don't remember what his name is.

Mr. Fishodor is Mr. Strickland.

That is actually the best description for Bob's Burgers I have ever heard in my life, both shows use the same kind of humor that's less obvious and more just watching how the characters interact with eachother, I don't know why there are people here who seem to hate it so much, probably autism and the fear of new things, I think it's a fine show tbh

Yeah, the character designs and overall aesthetic is ugly, no question there. I would definitely enjoy the show more with better art direction where the people weren't all some sort of humanoid earthworms. But then again, not liking the visuals pretty much goes for ALL cartoons of its genre, all the way back to Simpsons. I'm not giving Bob's Burgers any slack I don't give all the rest.

I enjoyed the writing alright, barely tolerated the visuals.

You guys do know that many of the KOTH writers work on Bob's Burgers, right? That's what gives the show it's wit and charm and balances out Bouchard's hip mumblecore humor.

I agree the designs are pretty ugly but no one gave Home Movies shit for having even worse designs. The dirt-poor animation on Bob's bothers me a lot more than the designs.

Snow close to the sea can only happen if the temperature are in both area below a certain zone (usually between -3 to +7) as an example look at the North Sea in Russia or Scandinavia. They get some snow but will never be thick as in inland. That's because land and water aren't anyway closer to have the same temp. One will always be lower or higher than the other

Just started watching this show, I actually like it. Tina and Gene are pretty one-note, and I'd have been tempted to cut one and roll the traits into the other two. But still, the show's fun. It has a gentleness to it, doesn't try to be edgy.

I definitely got a King of the Hill vibe from it (and also Home Movies, but it's Bouchard so obviously). Nice to see the McFarlane formula isn't the only kind of animated family sitcom left.
