These two wars are pretty different in that the Yugoslav wars with few exceptions were more practical wars whereas the Syrian civil war is just a massive clusterfuck of guerilla fighting by and large

The big difference here is that the Syrian civil war is the largest conflict in a while and we happen to have hd cameras to capture every bit of it, so it really hits closer to home
