The series ends will Captian Marvel bringing in the last "criminal" to the prison only to find all of the personel missing and the Inhuman starts playing a message in the villian's voice thanking her for all her hard work, reveals his whole plan to her, and then shuts down to reveal it was a Life Model Decoy all along.

Semi-related to the topic, what does rape accomplish other than turning characters into damaged goods? Seriously, there are better ways to advance plot and develop character. Is it just easier to write convoluted bullshit about to how a virtually godlike being can be raped as opposed to having a well though out plot that that has them learn something. Rape is a taboo topic for many people, but to say it shouldn't be used is wrong. People are like, "Oh my god, she got raped," all while those same people don't bat an eye at some being burned alive. Honestly, that mentallity is fucked up. Yeah, rape sucks, but the victim lives, (unless they get murdered too.) Life is fucked at times and I see nothing wrong with having a character that goes through a trauma, like rape, and becomes a symbol for readers to project themselves onto to help cope with a similar experience. If written well, they can show that life can continue after the trauma, learn to not let a single event define their life, and give hope to those victims. Trauma is the one of the corner-stones of comics that characters use to justify their journeys into becoming a hero, i,e, Batman. I'll admit DC did it just for the controversy and handle the subject matter pretty fucking poorly. I'm not sure if this helps you or that it might change your mind about rape in media, but I believe that there is no subject matter that should be banned from being written about.

The real problem in my opinion is the impermanence. A character is raped and other than justifying to the world at large that the villain is a villain, the hero doesn't actually suffer meaningfully from the experience. Serious emotional struggle to overcome what has happened to the character becomes yet more angst, and in time the character is just magically over it and back to being their happy go lucky self. How much more interesting would the story be if the character, in order to reclaim some sense of self, actually avenged themselves on their attacker? Or, if they're on a team with super friends, they actually did something about it instead of clucking their tongues and being oh so powerless? There are some sins for which there are extreme punishments for a reason. We as a society struggle with that shit. I think if a villain transcends the "beat up and go to jail" dynamic and rapes a character, that villain shouldn't be allowed to be around anymore, and it shouldn't take a fundamental supernatural presence like the Spectre to do the obvious thing.

Personally I don't like it and never will but, I don't want to boycott it for everybody. I just get mad when it happens to certain characters.

Just going about killing rapists would be hypocritical if that character has a history of not killing rapists before it happened to them. If they start killling rapists, then what is to stop them from killing others? If rapists start catching on that sups are killing rapists, then that would give them justification to murder their victims and dump their bodies, instead of leaving them alive to get rat on them, making murder the norm for rape. And hell, what about crazy/spiteful bitches who make fake rape claims to get revenge on a boyfriend that dumped her? Suddenly the victim becomes a vengeful monster that kills without evidence, using her trauma as justification for her actions. Now that is a scary thought, an SJW with superpowers going on a murder spree, fueled and manipulated by Tumblrites.

To be fair, that's not his point. The issue of using rape in a story has more to do with the kind of baggage it adds to the story and the affected characters. Most writers can't be bothered to do more than use it as a bullet point for half-baked character drama, and the ones who could probably don't want the bullshit that would come from any unconventional takes on the subject.

Imagine a modern version of that, only with the spoiled brat black daughter of a police chief claiming to be raped by her football captain boyfriend, her dad murders him in the woods, only to get back and learn the daughter faked the whole thing to punish the guy for not buying her the handbag she wanted.

Ya know, I didn't even consider just doing it about normal people. One of my ideas would be about two heroines who have a Batgirl/Supergirl type of friendship. They are kidnapped and raped on the same night by a costumed villain they don't know the identity of. Seeing as how they are super heroes, they can't just go to the police about this shit and they don't go to their fellow heroes because they don't want to be treated differently by them. They try to stay friends but even seeing each other reminds them of that night, so they drift apart from each other. Mostly the story is about how they both react when they see someone else getting raped, (each one sees a different incident.) The Batgirl sticks to her morals and bring the rapist in to face charges, while the Supergirl straight up murders her rapist on the spot. So basically they go down different paths and the story would continue from there.

That's a pretty good plot. Strong parallels between the two characters and open ended for potential continuation down one or both life paths those characters would have in a continuing story.

Thanks for the encouragement, but looking at this realistically, I would have to gather the capital to pay the artist, inker, and colorist. Honestly, I am unemployed and don't have a clue what the price-per-page will be for this. I don't think a bank will give me a loan to write a web comic and I am certain SJW would sabotage any Kickstarter or Patreon I would make to make it happen. And fuck, making this story could straight up ruin my life. If I make this and it fails, any employment opportunity I have could be ruined by the inevitable feminist stalker who won't like what I wrote and use it to pressure employers from hiring me or to use it to make them fire me. And yes, I am aware this is exactly why this work should be made, but mostly I am seeing a lot of risk for very little reward.
