It's french
I can cosplay Jordan.
I want to get fucked while cosplaying him
It was pretty good. I feel like the ending could've been a bit better, but overall, it was good. Nice art style, too.
...
The directing and writing could have been slightly better.
Sorely lacked in noses.
Not gonna happen bro.
The art was beyond fantastic. It's just a damn shame I can't find a high quality release of it anywhere.
I think there's a distinct lack of torrents with enough seeds or batch downloads for the series.
This. Anyone have any idea where to download the series in a quality other than '1990's toaster'
It'd be great
IF I COULD REWATCH IT IN NOT SHIT QUALITY AND SOMEWHERE THAT ISN'T RUSSIAN BRANCH OF JETIX IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT ON THIRD MONDAY OF EACH MONTH BUT ONLY WHEN THE CURDLING NIGHTHAWK SINGS THE BALLAD OF UNDYING CENTOS SERVER
Not enough porn by the way.
This pisses me the fuck off. I wouldn't care if I had to watch something like Regular Show in poor quality, because there's not that much effort put into it.
But Oban has awesome art with tons of effort put into it. And somehow of all the fucking series in existance, it's the one you can never find a high definition release of.
Good-but-not-really-popular shows that were ran before 2008-ish are forever doomed to be in either low-ass quality or just straight up gone forever.
Oh, and that part about russian branch of Jetix is actually true, they rerun it sometimes. In fucking Russian, of course, which means dealing with same three actors for everyone.
I didn't even know Jetix still existed.
I don't think russian branch is related to FOX in any fashion. Like, at fucking all. I do believe it's only on cable and most internet providers do not even offer this shit.
MFW you've got the complete series on DVD. -3-
Shieeet
Someone needs to pepe him up
Share that shit nigger
No idea. If I knew, I'd have gotten the series ages ago. I'll probably just buy the official DVDs or something.
Here you go.
Very good show, but it had too little racing and too much plot. The racing was important to give weight to the story and also provide some action, but it received way too little focus in the series as a whole.
Molly and Jordan were cute, though. I didn't like the prince much, and more or less wish the other racers were better characters than what we got.
Still a good series. 7/10
I don't actually believe you, but if you do, you gotta rip it mang.
...
I think the main big bad being some ancient God actually cheapened the plot.
Toyastic as fuck.
Dude you can get it on amazon for like 20 bucks in burgerland dillary dollary doos. Are you that cheap that you won't support an actual example of creator owned animation?
I mean with those savings you could even buy the art of book to boot.
Wait, it's actually owned by creators?
I can't think of anything sadder than a dead fanboard
obanstarracers.com
i remember this show
i remember never seeing the end.
was it cancelled? or did it actually have an ending?
who's that handsome fellow?
It had a full run of 26 episodes, just as Japanese Jesus intended.
26?
only 26?
i remember more than that, it was in Fox Kids, i remember they get to Oban, a planet several times the size of earth, and thats as far as i got i thinkā¦
That is correct that's one of main reasons why you don't see alot of toyetic stuff about it or merchandise. Savin Yeatman-Eiffel ( who as it turns out is the great great grandson of Gustave Eiffel himself) wanted the work to mostly stand by itself and did not want it to get fucked with by outside ownership.
Which is most likely way you are not seeing it on endless repeat as a show. Because if there's one thing media conglomerates don't like, is an artist that owns his work and has integrity to not run it into the ground.
So look forward to Jew Jew Abrams stealing everything from this show in the future for an original "homage" to sell to normies with pointless lens fare and endless plot holes written by his quad tripping writing partner of Lindelof in tow. With pointless Bestie Boy references.
Nope it was 26 episodes, the second part mostly takes place on Oban.
Props to Savin for that, although I don't agree with many of his choices. A race determining who gets absolute power? Some bullshit god of pure evil?
I feel like the series would have made a lot more sense if the race was just the Olympics of the interstellar community - an event to bring different people together, for the duration of which all conflicts are frozen.
Honestly though, I kind of doubt anyone will give it homages. It's a lovely series with beautiful art, but I think it's far too obscure to be actually brought out anywhere, unless the creator himself pushes some strings.
...
She's kinda cute.
Maybe I'll watch.
Shit man,
Used to watch that on Toonatik between last airbender season 2 and 3. It fucking rocked!
Was there only ever 1 season? It ended with Jordan jumping into the pyramid of light and avatar-cucking Canalettolini
that was the end yes
toyetic
I got this over a year ago
kat.cr
I could, maybe, upload it to mega over the course of the week
which part of "we want it in decent quality" don't you understand?
Thanks
I may be able to get the 720p one here
btstorr.cc
want me to wait on uploading them?
...
fucking hell this show is so good.
Speaking of that, I'm uploading the show's soundtrack along with that ending song (which isn't included in the soundtrack for some reason) to the Holla Forums vola. Should be done in a couple minutes.
This one works fine, except for some of the bonus features, which refuse to download properly, but all the episodes went just fine, if a bit slowly.
link?
Whenever you want, mane.
is there a way to get it on the Tubes?
danke
please elaborate
Life is suffering
I got the PAL DVDs, but they're english dub only and the quality isn't amasing.
I'll rip the .iso if anyone wants em
Well you have one good audiotrack, one good video track, you can make it work out.
it's a start user
Uploading the .ISOs and .CUEs to MEGA now
This one keeps giving me errors at 16.9%
check the log, name may be too long
What's the deal with France and Japan? Why are their ideas and designs for cartoons always so similar and bizzare?
there is a retarded extra in there, it may be that
Has a lot to do with a deeply rooted cultural appreciation for the arts. Plus, Japan and France love each other, even if the French are so rude that it gives Japanese tourists crippling culture shock.
This statement is fundamentally correct.
can weā¦can we?
no really can we, download link to the english audio and HD french video
if i can get those, i know how to use movie maker, i can(or a team of anons can) sink up the the two tracks
audio is in a 720 torrent posted ITT
user said he was gonna upload ISOs of decent quality
not finding french 1080
fuckin pirate bay seems to have a french dub so I'll try it tonight
thepiratebay.se
Ok, guys, it took ages to upload, but here they are
The .iso and .cue rips of the PAL DVDs
Enjoy
Whoopsie!
Use THIS link
good man
I tried watching it but I think it was very long and not much happen. You wait and wait until it will be good and it never happens.
I think I mainly watched it for the shipping and the fast and the visuals
the shipping and Fast were alright but the visuals were the real sell
...
Yeah, user, shipping!
Spaceshipping!
Well fuck, I've tried this through all my browsers and it errors out around halfway.
Same thing happened for me when uploading a few times.
Keep trying, maybe download one at a time.
user is this your first Rodeo?
use 7zip with minimum compression without just storing the files and set it to segment every 300mb or at least every 1000mb
if you're on windows the split file option should suggest DVD split at like 3000mb, just change the number to 300 or 1000 and make sure to put each set of files in their own folder first
Y-yes
files over a gigabyte often disconnect because the download loses track, o you need to segment them in an archive so they can be downloaded in smaller chunks and put back together later, kinda like torrent
do you need help walking through the process of segmenting it?
Sure
first are you using windows?
second do you have 7zip installed?
Yep
Installing it now
I recommend making sure it has context menus enabled so you can right click stuff and have options
Enabled, what's next?
once you get it installed I would recommend putting each pair of files in their own separate folders
like folders labeled disc1 disc2 etc.
posting this now because all future posts from me will be on the go using phone
screw it I'm not making the buss I'll just drive
alright once you separate each set of disc files into their own folder right click the folder, go through the options and select add to archive
set compression level to fastest and enter "300M" or "1000M" in to the "split to volumes, bytes" field
then sit on your ass and wait for it to split
if you want it really fast set compression to store but I don't recommend that since my 30GB virtual machine turns into 7GB with minimum level of compression
Done
By the way, you can post a little more each time
sorry was panicky because I thought I was gonna miss the buss, which I did so I'm jsut gonna drive
I mean is there a way to convert them DVDs to (Insert preferred online video sharing site) for us to enjoy ?
multiple steps
I'm pretty sure you can rip from DVD to MKV or AVI using handbrake
probably other options too
hows it goin man?
Closest I could get is 650/700mb for splitting
Anything else I should fiddle with?
you can manually change the size of the split files, just backspace off the -cd part and change the 7 to whatever you want
Alright, it's splitting now at 1000M each.
I'll upload them over the course of the next few days
I'm a complete noob though. Was hoping Craig would see this thread and be willing to play Oban Star Racers rather than that Fighting Foodons bullshit.
Excellent user, I look forward to it
do you just want to watch it online now?
Why did they kill off Ondai after he got a whole Pinocchio episode about how he wants to be a real boy?
His death was so arbitrary and ambiguous but he's clearly not there at the end
wut?
Ondai, the robot.
I know, what were you asking I didn't quite understand
In the final episode Prince Akkiko stabs and disables his racer when Ondai confronts him and then he's never seen again.
well there are two problems with that user
first it wasn't the last episode but the 24th, not the 26th
also regardless of whether he died or not, I don't think he did, the end of the race turned into a battle royal and everyone was taking each others racers out going for the win
Okay, but he's still not seen again soā¦ it seems like they just unceremoniously killed him off right after his heel-face turn.
a LOT of shit changes since that episode
But they show the survivors in the last episode and Ondai isn't there.
MEGA SOON, FELLOW RACERS
Now, in fact
mega.nz
Thanks, man.
To say thanks, I'm uploading some .zips with concept art from the show that I found on the vola.
Check the link in .
Mighty fine work user, you should be proud of yourself
I'll start downloading tonight
I fucking love you user. I've been trying to find a good rip of this show for ages.
Don't get your hopes up, even for a DVD rip, it's not very high resolution.
(Plus I literally just ripped the .iso of each disk, you gotta sit through all the Jetix advertisement to get to the episodes)
Oh user you card, I know you're still a bit new to this but, we can just delete those
The base material you have provided more valuable than you realize
I always thought the other guy, the original driver should have become the Avatar. He'd already said that if he couldn't race any more, there was nothing for him to live for.
Putting him in charge of the greatest race in the galaxy would have been a fitting end. Jordan wasn't even a driver.
I get it was about him sacrificing himself, but it should have been the other guy.
probably had to do with passing the torch
nah man the quality is actually really good.
the commercials can always be edited out.
I was just thinking
Maybe we need some sort of AV club thread
we could share cartoons and anime as well as information on how to convert them into video and share them
for instance I have megaman season 1, Akira vampire hunter D and Evangelion
The original driver probably killed himself once he got back to Earth, too.
Rick ain't the type
I don't know this but it looks familiar. Must have been on when I was a kid on some channel
para dice a cute
I liked it, but I hated the shape of the boobs in that show. Looked like two oranges just stuffed in their shirts or really shitty surgery.
...
At least have them closer together.
At least have them closer together.
At least have them closer together.
This show gave me one of my first anime boners
by the way, when .net goes down switch over to .pl
it's low pop but it fucking runs
At least have them closer together.
Did anyone manage to watch the last episode? When I open the dvd(used MagicISO) with either vlc or media player the last episode won't load, it would just crash the player. I also tried using DVDFab to extract the episodes, apparently it can only extract the sound and not the video from the Oban DVDs, but it can't do the last episode. I also tried using MagicDVDRipper, and while it can extract the episodes with both audio and video, it also can't extract the last episode.
All I want to do is watch the last episode, goddammit.
bump
sorry user, didn't even check them
been working on other stuff like vid related
will give them a look a little later
Can anyone get the the french torrent?
God I've looked all over.
Thank you.
do you know how to rip from youtube user?
addons.mozilla.org
seconding
final ep of the last disk not working for me but the rest of the eps on that disk work fine
You are doing God's work, user.
Uploader here, I don't have the files on my computer anymore, I had to delete em all to clear up some space. (40gb in total, goddamn)
Looking at the mega, it seems I uploaded two versions of the final part of the last disc.
Try downloading both and making two separate .isos, see which one works and I'll delete the faulty .zip from the MEGA.
If all else fails, I'll rip and upload the 2nd disc again.
Hopefully it's not a problem with the disc itself
Heh
This shit right here was had a big impact on my chilhood. Or was it my teenage years? Anyway, I recently rewatched it and learned the director and writter took 9 fucking years to make it and knows a shitload of languages and he overlooked the localization proccess of each fucking version himself.
That motherfucker is "follow your dream" to the max, I am currently working in the hopes that I get to do something like that before I'm dead.
Ending could have used some more work however.
I downloaded the spilt zips, but I will download the raw zip as well. Hopefully this was the problem. Anyway good work user. Oh and for some reason episodes 11 and 12 were mixed, both when I extracted them and when I played them from the DVD menu. The only problem is that the first 15 seconds of episode 12 contains major spoilers from episode 11. I am just saying so that anybody in this thread who still hasn't watched it has been warned.
I haven't even watched them myself, laddie.
I ordered them ages ago and was disappointed that they weren't french with subs and they've lived on my shelf ever since.
I seem to recall seeing those files when I downloaded time
I still haven't unwrapped my Wakfu Blu-rays I got for backing the thing
My nigger
I still got the Blurays in the wrapping and box they were sent in, along with the stickers, t-shirt and Mifuchi game
Ruel backer level?
I also have "Broken Promise" about to finish in the next few hours, will probably upload it tonight
a few weeks back I was thinking a lot of Holla Forums anons don't know what it's like to grow up around the same time as the late 20s early 30s guy generation and figured it would be cool to do like a daily or weekly upload of a lot of the cool early Toonami and 1980s-1990s shows that were on
and then I remembered that Endchan has a 350MB upload limit
soon as I get enough of these Toonami Bumps encoded I was thinking of posting webms of some of the dubbed anime I had collected over the years by torrent or disc
right now I am planning on Dubbed shows
Ghost Stories
Tenchi Muyo
Outlaw Star
Yu Yu Hakusho
but I was thinking also, since this is Holla Forums were talking about, Mighty Max and Exosquad instead of 2 of them until a later time
Nah just an Evangeline/Amalia backer, whichever one was the minimum to get the blurays.
Evangelyne
I forgot how much stuff was packed in before blurays
this finished an hour or so ago
Oh fuck I'm getting a nostalgia boner.
I downloaded both the raw and the split zips. Same problem, the last episode won't play. It won't play from the DVD menu(either by selecting the episode or playing the entire series and skipping to the point that the episode starts(the rest works), it just crashes). It won't be ripped and neither would the preview from Magic DVD work(it works with the rest, but when I skip to that part it crashes).
I used both VLC and Windows Media Player.
some times, in the dark hours of the night, when the shills and marketers sleep, Holla Forums has late night threads that fee like the old days
like the teaching feeling thread
the Holla Forums 1 am thread is not one of these
porn game threads are usually a good bet, some times they turn into old school vn and PC98 game threads
bump
righto, keep the thread alive and I'll see what I can do
Thank you. I feel like I am the only one who downloaded and watched the series.
...
Ok, I ripped what I think was the last episode from the disc (I haven't watched the series myself, so I didn't properly check, but I'm fairly sure)
Here's the MEGA again - mega.nz
Yes, this is the last episode, thank you user. What tools did you use to rip the episode, especially at that high quality(and by quality I mean that it is 870 MB)? Also you should watch the series, yourself.
I literally just googled "DVD to MKV" and used the first thing on there, "Make MKV"
And, I do intend to watch it, but I got a lot of exams going on at the moment and I can't afford to get invested in Oban right now.
I also found a weird background transition thing to some music on the disc. I could upload it if anyone wants it.
**Hell, the episodes ripped faster than I thought, I could upload them all if you guys want.
Not sure if you're still here user, but I think that would be a good idea. I don't have much expirience with filtering but I can do that actual encoding part (I use raw ffmpeg.) Anime has a very dedicated ripping community but encoding and sub discussion only comes up every now and then.
hey user, this is what I have been working on
I'm someone else has interest in this idea as well
right now my secondary bitch work computer is encoding english tenchi muyo episodes to be under 50mb webm files because I know the file size limit for endchan.xtyz is 350mb and I think Holla Forums.pl is 50mb as part of a plan for a toonami-esk thread where I would post mainly old tom 2 era toonami shows accompanied by the already encoded bumps and probably some of the music from future funk vaporwave
youtube.com
I was gonna call it the Epoch Mega thread for that era of great anime and cartoons and the starting linup would be
later as they run out I would throw in some older american cartoosn like mighty max and exo squad and thundar and king arthur and the knights of the round table
that was the plan but there is no reason it could not double as an AV thread and we could share our knowledge on ripping and encoding and subbing
.pl and endchan's Holla Forums are pretty much dead so their desolate boards would be fertile ground for cross posting the larger files
here is a test run of my initial Tenchi Muyo encode at 66MB, pardon my blog post
I made a thread here( ), too
If you guys wanna get it going, go for it
I'm down
looks like it's down
that's alright though it was kinda shit anyway
Weird. It's back now.
yeah it's alacrity issues
bump for bumps sake
...
Updated the MEGA so it has all the episodes in .mkv format
I also added an Extras section, which has a trailer for the series and backgrounds & concept art to music, along with three .zips of art.
Noice
Thank you.
try this
...
the left one is the kid friendly version isn't it
why would the color of the bottle change anything for pepes sake
Blessed user.
Would you mind if I made a torrent out of this and put it on pb and kickass?
going from right to left it became water
left bottle is water
Go for it, the more people see Oban the better.
If you wouldn't mind, credit me as SpaghettiWizard, though.
I intended to credit you as "Based Holla Forums user", but spaghetti wizard works too.
sweet Christopher Walken's balls, I'm glad I Invested in a larger HDD, seeding this shit is gonna be fucking fun
Oh,I'm sorry, I should be more specific, they are over 20GB total when packed into a zip
Hey, actually, mention Holla Forums Holla Forums in there somewhere. It'd be nice for us to get a little recognition.
That would be a bad idea. The more people there are, the shittier the board becomes.
If you want that, you should browse halfchan for a bit and see if that is what you really want.
Nah, I was just thinking it'd be nice if people saw that we ripped stuff that they liked and thought "Hey, Holla Forums/co/ are pretty cool. Good for them."
Mention it or don't, I'm good either way.
Okay, I'll actually download the raws and re-rip everything.
credit "Infinite Spagetti Comics"
that should get the point across for those in the know and satisfy accrediting anons
or "The 8 Spaghetti Wizards"
at what compression?
Doesn't matter anymore, but low, I guess. because after unpacking it gained just a few additional bytes.
I'm almost done ripping the Alwas cycle, I should pack the entire series into under 4GB with no detectable quality loss.
(Encoding in x264 and AAC, if you want placebo quality FLACs go ask /a/)
I'm still going to credit it to the DVD provider.
good man
This is getting a bit overcomplicated, Holla Forums user is fine by me. I'm not so pompous that I need my name on everything I do.
Too Late Now
If what you're ripping is going to be any better than the rips I've already got on the mega, I'll stick em on with credit to you.
Some people have had problems with the very last episode, but I don't feel like reuploading the whole thing again, so if you tell me what you're using I'll rip the last episode and put it on the mega for you.
Ah, fair enough.
>Labyrinth
My fucking nigger
Ripper user here, I'm almost done with everything, but I can't find the "Backgrounds & Music" anywhere on the DVDs.
Which disc did you get it from?
I work night audit
and exactly 2 nights ago I had a guest named justin
he had this shirt
he worked in lighting or something and after I said nice shirt we got to talking and eventually he said it was free swag he got because he worked with OPB or something
It was just neat to chat with a chill guy about a good old movie tho
Also, question 2 to DVD provider or anybody who downloaded the raws:
Can you view star racer data on oban cycle #2?
Okay, indeed, after doing everything in my power the only answer is: the last dvd is clearly broken somehow.
I'm using HandBrake, video codec H.264, audio codec AAC, all settings default save for x264 Preset: Very Slow.
It's very important, the quality depends on it.
It's probably going to take at least an hour to rip
On top of that, you should also Disable LibDVD in the settings and rip all the star racer entries from the last disc.
And also rip the Backgrounds & Music file, it's also corrupt on the last DVD.
All under the same settings.
though I would really prefer you reuploaded the DVD
Why does FLAC or AAC even matter? The audio is AC3, it's shit lossy either way.
Okay, I give up.
I've been working this for two days, but the DVDs as you uploaded them are either partially corrupt, ar are in some format that HandBrake does not understand.
At least one episode from each DVD is broken and will not play or rip.
a.cocaine.ninja
Here is the torrent to everything that actually works. The files I did manage to rip are much smaller and in marginally better quality than mega guy's. here I explain the settings, if you're willing to re-rip what's missing.
I'm out.
It doesn't, really, I'm putting it into AAC only because it's an accepted standard. And honestly, you wouldn't believe how many times I've seen people complain that audio is a sub-par quality or is not a flac even though it was that way in the original release
Downloading the torrent now and I'll re-rip the broken ones while it does it.
Then, I'll put them all on the mega.
Actually, I'm getting a really shitty DL speed, I'll re-rip em myself
Just remembered that my computer is utter shite and crashed while trying to rip them in handbrake.
Looks like I'll be downloading them after all.
user's I have only been half paying attention becasue I have spent the last weeks worth of my free time getting my personal home cloud storage server set up (it now takes me an hour tops to implement when I need it)
am I to understand there is an encoding problem?
I have a couple windows machines with i7 processors and the will to encode
even better if you just make ISO ripps I can rip and encode it any way you want
The main problem is that the .iso files I uploaded were partially corrupt, meaning torrentanon can't rip/encode all of the episodes.
I have the dvds, so I figured I'd use them to rip/encode the ones he can't, but my computer is shit.
I already uploaded a quick rip of every episode, but torentanon's are better.
Also, it looks like he's stopped seeding
how did you make those isos again?
I have no idea what the issue is, I've had the client open the entire time, but it only sometimes decides to start seeding.
Internet
How I hate when this happens.
qBit reports that there are 5 people trying to get the file, but does not actually connect to anybody.
what is your tracker?
I just ripped them with isohunter, split them with 7zip and uploaded them
I think a better solution might be for you to just upload them to MEGA, then I can import them directly into my MEGA without having to download them. Then I'll rip the ones that aren't working, upload them, then you can make a proper torrent and put them on whatever website.
also give alcohol a shot for ripping
I don't think so, doesn't say anywhere on the discs or cases.
's ok, I got a friend to lend me their decent-ish laptop for me to rip the last few bits.
...
What happened with the uploads user? I am sincerely lamenting my slow as shit internet, all I see is
'Broken Oban Star Racer' contains a folder with the same name which contains a folder of the same name, ad infinitum -or as long as MEGA lets me, see at least-.
Please confirm if this is just on my end.
can confirm, the Mega only contains one infinite loop folder. The original DVD images or rips don't seem to be there anymore.
MEGAsync shat itself, basically
Trying to fix it now, sorry about this
GUYS I FUCKED UP
THE INFINITE LOOP FOLDER IS NOW ON MY HARD DRIVE AND WON'T GO AWAY NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I DELETE IT
delete the parent folder?
Nope, tried that
Ok, fixed it
Hey OST user, mind uploading the soundtrack again so I can put it on the MEGA?
Thinking about it, I should probably re-rip the DVDs at a better standard. Anyone got any advice on how I should go about that?
Thanks a bunch user, really thought my chance at this had slipped away for a moment.
I you've not noticed yet, the MEGA has been updated with the better versions of the episodes.
Are you going to rip the star racer data?
Not got the time for that right now, I have an exam tomorrow. I'll try at the weekend.
Fun show while it lasted.
Sure. I can put it on the Vola real quick.
Hope you're still around, nig.
I'm still here, having a bit of trouble with the Star Racer Data though.
This is probably the last post I'll make for a few days, I gotta go away for a bit
Soundtrack is up.
volafile.io
What kinda trouble are you having?
Hope it ain't nothin serious, man.
OST will be up on the mega shortly, under Extras
It's just that my computer's shit and it's throwing up a bunch of errors when ripping.
Might have to get my friend's laptop back
This is definitely the last post I'll make until Sunday, leaving in about 30 mins
Almost forgot to thank you for the ost!
Thanks!
Absolutely definitely last post now
No problem.
downloaded as well just in case
also crapped out on encoding old toonami stuff because something is wrong with the newest version of xmedia recode or just my install of it and I'm too busy to do anything about it
thanks again man
Hey, just thought I should make a post now I'm back.
Giving up on ripping the Racer Data until I get my friend's lappy, which might be a while.
In the meantime, I'll try and rip and upload the ISOs with no errors.
bump to keep it alive
keep it alive
This may be interesting for some as there is some stuff thats not on the DVDs.
only one problem:its all in french.
catsuka.com
That's got some neat shit on it. Thanks for the link.
...
Sorry the new .isos are taking a while, the ones I rip keep coming up with small errors like the originals.
Currently trying to figure out what's going wrong with it.
dub or sub?
why am I attracted to this thing
dub, nobody's ever subbed it
