A lot of their older cartoons were mediocre and bit repettive.

But their 90's reboots like the spooktacular casper done by animanics guys and new woody woodpecker show directed by several directors from ren&stimpy were awesome.

abc had "the casper cartoobn show" from 1963 to 1969. it was better than watching the live action shows nbc and cbs aired, so i watched it. i found casper way too saccharine, but loved herman and katnip (my favorite tex avery creation was screwball squirrel, so h&k is not much of a stretch)

Not having stupid, stupid names like that is one of the few things I can say are better about modern cartoons.

Also, if those mice had the time to dig pit traps and stuff, then Katnip couldn't have been such a great guard in the first place. Sneaking some food should be simpler than digging a big hole. Or somehow acquiring a shotgun.

I agree that isn't lewd, but that sort of stuff never struck me as cute either. Just… pointless, I guess? Like, if it were up to me, I'd just never include panty shots at all unless they were in a clearly lewd context.

In a times where slapstick was king and an honest-to-god punchline was as simple as having the hunted continually outwit the hunter only to finish off with a snarky comment to salt the wounds, it was certainly easy enough for copycats to try and replicate the formula and fuck it up out of sheer laziness or complete misunderstanding of the sense of humor they were trying to capture.
