It's kind of an odd mix. There's bits where it's really good and is tense. However about half the season's worth of content could be cut and it wouldn't make a difference since it's so slow to go anywhere. It's a mixed bag of quality honestly, there's areas where the show is really good and then stretches where the show is like watching paint dry.

They also made a massive deal about diversity in the show in interviews which was cringeworthy and shook faith that the writers and directors don't have their priorities straight

Nicely written universe, space politics, action is nicely spaced out by slow downtimes. It has a mystery that everybody is trying to solve, everybody kind of gets fucked, and there's massive conspiracies.

The only thing the show is missing in terms of diversity is some trannies strutting around, but they're likely there and I have missed them. The "lost girl" has pansexual in her dating profile, the main cast is completely shit, but especially the protagonist, that has to have the most degenerate and filthy background I've ever come across.

Every nigger introduced is some sort of super genius, despite the show trying to be mature it completely ignores racial and gender politics in favor of some socialist bullshit about the oppressed space miners and evil corporations to the point Marx would be masturbating in his grave.

Acting is wooden all around, the props are shit, the action sequences are even worse, about the only good thing is the space battles, but since they suffer from the same shaky cam "realism" bullshit that seems to be in vogue everywhere these days you never get to enjoy them properly.

And the finale shits the bed.

To summarize, it's a show based on a book series that only rose to prominence because the author is part of the leftist clique that doles out Hugo awards based on an author's ideological allegiance, loyalty and willingness to suck dick.

PC means to be sensitive to the culture, gender, and orientation differences of other people.
