These people don't watch this show, they watch dogshit like Steven Universe/modern CN or whatever is "hip" to tween/teen audiences and bash FOP, Spongebob, or other cartoons aimed at younger demographics because doing so is also hip to them. Not really different than grade schoolers making fun of Barney. Most of them probably didn't even grow up with this show no matter what they said, and their knowledge of "what went wrong" is based off cursory facebook knowledge at best.

If you want to gauge a real reception among actual old school fans, the only places you'll get are places like this. No one here is trying to fit in or get karma/likes/upvotes for shouting MY CHILDHOOD IS RUINED for the umpteenth time. Most people that frequent FOP threads have liked Chloe. Some people even like her better than the traditional FOP girls.

Sparky was universally hated. Poof was not really hated, but used as a marker of when the show started to decline which is not very accurate (I'd say Season 5 was a bigger rut). Chloe has not been hated except by people who want to bitch about something, anything, but don't actually watch the show and instead just want likes/to push the "Nick is dead" meme/troll the fanbase.

I was accused of ban evasion by the mods in those threads (only ever FOP threads) a while ago, but I switched ISP and it stopped because the mods there are literally just retarded script kiddies who target based on your IP range rather than your actual behavior. I don't even know why I was banned in the first place, but I'm pretty sure it was something absolutely laughable like posting a picture of Vicky in a swimsuit. I'm not someone who shitposts or even risks posting porn so if I was getting targeted then its ridiculously easy to get on the mod's bad side if you're a FOP thread regular. There is ONE actual person who tends to shit up the threads and get his posts mass deleted, their trademark is they usually bash Tootie, make similar sounding posts about Grey Delisle's voice, attacks Garabatoz for his comics by acting like an angry Tootie fan, and often just make the same set of shitposts over and over, which makes me believe he's just some outsider with a set of cliffnotes on how to make the fanbase or threads look bad. Really suspicious.

Basically, a mod there applies harsh standards to drive off drawfags and contributors, an actual ban evader (possible sacrificial mod sock puppet?) shits up the thread with the same series of posts, and you're left with a thread with a depopulated thread where no one draws, no one risks posting any images, and no one really has any fun. The only good news is, outside of the aforementioned guy, outsiders don't tend to come in and shit up the threads as much as they did a few years ago when Redwood made a sticky about how a personal enemy of his frequented those threads and also trolled Adventure Time/Regular show threads. Otherwise, there is a reason why most of the drawfags only come here.

It's a shame because I'm not one of those >LOL GOING TO CUCKCHAN EVER faggots, both sites have their strengths and weaknesses, and old Holla Forums's current weakness is a terrible mod who puts personal vendettas ahead of actually enforcing their rules. If you like posting one of the twenty Steven Universe or Batman vs Superman threads they have there, then go for it, otherwise, older cartoons are better talked about here.

I think everyone has been accused of being the ban evader at least once, especially since legitimate complaints about threads being too overtaken by waifus is a legit complaint in every other Holla Forums show but an accusation of War in FoP threads. Anyways, I may as well post this here for once. The more I watch the more I realise that, while Season 9 is definitely the worst, it has a surprising amount of decent stuff. It's turning out like Season 5 where it's not like every episode was shit, but the overall mood of the show was shit and slipped into every episode

I just checked out the Toonzone FoP thread because I was bored and despite the fact that every show on thier Friday block has been delayed, the people legitimately think that FoP was removed specifically because they want to cancel it due to "low ratings". These people are further up thier own ass than Holla Forums is.

This sort of thing has happened before, they'd set an episode to air at the end of the month, and then suddenly, its pushed back further. I remember this happening to the Vicky/Foop team up episode last season because it was an episode that actually sounded interesting and looked forward to. It was delayed for several months.

Ended up being a good episode too.

I feel that the FoP delay is either due to something about the anniversary, or just everything going on break so it can come back with The Loud House in April.

I dont find any of the episodes that season good except for maybe Fairly odd Fairy Tales (because it broke formula), and maybe Scary Godcouple which was still somewhat disappointing.

Its so fucking cheap that they just used Crocker, Cosmo, and Timmy's dad for so many episodes. Any character that is more than a white shirt and black tie is too hard to draw. I guess thats why some people were saying Chloe looks overdesigned in comparison.

I have to admit that, even the episodes in God Tier are bogged down by the Season's problems, unlike say, Whittle Me This that I honestly found zero flaws with.

Still, I have to say I do like even a few episodes of ever season.

For example, I might find this season to be bad, but Viral Vidiots was fantastic and what made me finally realise that when Timmy's Mom gets an episode to herself she becomes the best character. Legit in the 10 ten of the whole series for me

not as much as you'd think, FOP was always a hit-and-miss series so their hasn't been any real drop in quality, even the introduction of new characters nobody likes has given the show a bit more interest

My question is; Why the fuck doesn't Nick just do what Hannah-Barberra did and just make spinoff after spinoff whenever they wanted to reinvent their series?

FOP has been going on for 15 fucking years, the introduction of Poof and the dog could've been part of a spinoff series still starring the same cast just with a couple new characters, it would've given them an opportunity to remix the art-style too

But nope! Instead the keep dragging on the same shit for a decade and a half because every show has to be a long-runner ever since the Simpsons became a thing in the 80s

Honestly, I like the endless spinoff model better than the longrunner model, because it gives the franchise more variety and makes it more memorable, I also think longrunners isolate themselves to dedicated viewers who have been watching the show forever while making a spinoff of the show can attract potential new viewers to be able to catch up to the series

You have to ask Butch Ham-hock for that, and Nick (Viacom execs in general) aren't exactly a bright bunch either.

While I agree that the spinoffs idea works well, I prefer one giant show for FoP.

Despite being one show it was never afraid to make huge changes, so it still never got stale to me, and I really like a show that isnt afraid to change status quo.

Plus I just like it as a lorefag. And I dont think a show like FoP, where it's lore and world building is mainly in the background locks out viewers quite as much as say, Ben 10 or Total Drama where it's front and centre.

ALso realised Ben 10 and Total Drama are fusions of endless spinoff and long runner. Maybe that could have worked for FoP.

Because unlike most other long running cartoons, this has evolved its format, while remaining true to the core of what it is, and as an episodic series, it will always have good episodes and bad episodes. The very latest episode that premiered for instance was a good episode, it fit the bill of an interesting story matched with great voice acting and a funny resolution.

Most people when they talk about how "shit" FOP has become are replying to a copypasta misinformation post regarding some episode that sounds bad when given a brief rundown of it (ie Timmy wishes time to stand still for 50 years, live action Timmy "dying", etc), but can actually be funny, heartwarming, well animated and voice acted. I don't think these people have watched this cartoon in years, if ever, those that aren't just trying to farm easy (You)-stacks on 4chan's Holla Forums or Holla Forums are usually just shill CN fans.

I've just been a fan of this since the early seasons. I was looking forward to seeing things like Chloe interacting with Tootie or Trixie, not Crocker or Dad Turner shitting up just about every episode like we've seen so far.
FOP isn't the only cartoon with these problems. I've seen Adventure Time and Regular Show making shit decisions too, but at least they still try to appeal to fans.

Speaking of Wiki shit, the voice actor for Sparky came by after seeing she got a page and started talking to everyone for a bit, which was pretty cool, even if Sparky wasnt great. One of the few things I liked about him was how Sparky seemed to always be involved in criminal stuff, and we found out she pushed for that because it made him more interesting. And yeah, we got definitel confirmation that he's gone because nobody liked him, and that Chloe is liked enough that she'll come back if the show is renewed. Also, Poof isnt gone.

Also, Ive enjoyed modern FoP far more than Loud House, which, while decent, falls short in a lot of ways. The plots are very straightforward and you can tell how it will go fairly quickly. I like it a lot, but definitely the least good of the three. Not sure whether or not I like FoP or Beaks more though. Either way, between FoP's improvement, their good new shows and canning Breadwinners, I'm pretty happy with Nick right now.

Fuck, at least FoP actually fucking changes. Adventure Time has had several life altering changes and events happen and yet the general cast for an average episode and how they interact is exactly the same in Season 6 as it was in Season 2. It's the illusion of change. Every important plot gets ignored, backpedalled or fizzled out. And characters wont appear unless the episode is 100% about them. Man, I could spend forever talking about what pisses me off with the show.

I mean, can do the same with FoP, but at least I can contain those complaints to just two seasons.

The anonymous crew member there said it, the only reason some characters appear and others disappear is because the writers have favorites and only are willing to focus on them. Its like how AT and RS had problems with fan meddling, which led to shit like Finn being snubbed for Bubbline, or that godawful Mordecai love triangle, the situation with FOP is the exact opposite, writer meddling, where tired and shitty characters get used over and over because the writers are nose blind to how badly they stink.

Timmy's dad and Crocker only sucked in Season 9. At least for me. So that's not really a big deal on my end. I only hated the Crocker and Dad focus because they sucked then. But now it's toned down. They're used better. Even if they're in a lot of episodes, they're not the centre of every fucking one like before. For example, Whittle Me This used them both perfectly, That episode had absolutely no issues for me. That criticism is literally SO last season

Nigga Dark Laser is fucking awesome. One of the best villains. I'm so glad he's getting at least two episodes this season. And while I dont give a shit about Trixie, Tootie is great, yeah. Even if I actually like Chloe more.

It did have places like fanfiction.net, deviantart, and I remember threads for it on some old video game forums I visited. It definitely had an online presence when the internet was still young, it just wasn't as far reaching because those places were slower, and Hartman himself only kept a shitty website and forum which I remember being run by the biggest fucking nazi admins you'd ever imagine.

Yeah though, it really petered out, and most of the time its brought up places, its "What the hell are they doing?" like Sparky or Chloe being introduced.

Chloe is supposed to be the opposite of Timmy. Tootie isn't that at all. Plus being promoted to second main character would mean changing her character as her character is based around being a love interest.

I think that tying a character like Vicky's younger sister to an love interest was a big mistake. Because them working as allies would have been much better and she'd probably have found out about Cosmo and Wanda by season 5 or 6. She probably wouldn't end up sharing them butbshe'd probably be able to "know" or something. I'm not too hung up on that though since I'm OK with how things turned out.

And Timmy is selfish, dim, unmotivated but is chill and has street smarts. Chloe is kind, smart and motivated but is a naive stressed out crazy person. I totally see the opposite thing. They pretty much have a Gumball and Darwin dynamic.

Trixie was maybe a little tired, because they kept status quo'ing any development Timmy might have gotten with her. I don't think Tootie was boring though, besides the pining after Timmy stuff, since they hardly used her and there was potential for things involving her and Vicky and the rest of their family that just sort of petered off in season 6 for no real reason.

It's likely because, one, bashing Tootie is like asking to be banned there. Not because its not allowed by rules or the mod over there is a fan of her or anything (Since he'll just as quickly delete threads supporting her), but because one of the biggest and most annoying turboautists I've ever seen used to relentlessly bash the shit out of her in threads that had absolutely nothing to do with Fairly OddParents, Gravity Falls being a recent example I know of. I've watched every episode since Chloe premiered. If it's not Timmy's dad butting in on the episode, it's Crocker. They may not be "totally focus the episode on them" status as before (yet… a few of the upcoming episode titles say otherwise), but its still annoying as fuck when they keep appearing. It's at least a slight step above the last season, but there are still major issues and the show is being outclassed by Harvey Beaks, SvTFOE, and Loud House.

Harvey Beaks>current FoP>Loud House>Star.

Loud House is great, but is probably the most generic a cartoon can possibly be (but not really as an insult. It's fun to chill out and watch.) It's plots are very straightforward and the jokes are simple. It's not as comfy as Beaks or wacky as FoP. It's just fine. The real strength is the character dynamics but outside that it's very standard.

Star I can barely get into at all for some reason. Outside the GOAT villain of course.

Ive seen them all too (Plus Return of the LOSERS) and I have to say that I'm generally really enjoying the show right now. Ive been around the whole 15 years and I'd still rank this season as top 5. Most of the characterizations have been fixed. (I'd expound on this but my post would get long). The only real problem I have right now is character diversity, but it's not the end of the world for me because I actually find Dad and Crocker funny again. Plus Chloe being a full character (and not just a dog) means she has to be a large part of every episode, which definitely means less of those two overall this season.

Outside the Crocker's past episode in Season 9, what changes are you talking about? There are no other major lore changes. The endgame being changed just comes with a show that has had to make multiple finales. Not really unique to this show. Futurama has had 4 series finales, after all. And 3 of them were good.

It's well within her character to start doing a lot of things to the point of having some sort of equilibrium in town based on her doing them. Also, "X goes to shit when character leaves" is a super common plot.

Also, the episode is executed in a way where it's about her doing specific things and then them getting out of hand when she stops doing them.
