the point i was making was that dc doesn't do the shit that marvel does, they do things like elseworlds, where it doesn't matter. gotham by gaslight is essentially the dc version of "marvel hero noir". it isn't a major change, and has no impact on the main storylines, ergo the term "what if? scenario". as i said before, in regards to the main storylines, dc doesn't go changing the character's gender or race like marvel does.

Let's be honest here, if you have every single most famous marvel super heroes, hundreds of millions of dollars, the most famous actors at your disposal, how can you NOT do a good job? Even if you have no experience with movies and you just watched movies your entire life it would take a special kind of idiot to not make something enjoyable with that money and support.

It's not like Joss did anything important, the script wasn't that great and he wasn't even the only one who wrote it. I'm sure he had an assistant and an entire team giving feedback.

I don't know about the rest of Holla Forums but I thought that The Avengers was bland, forgettable shit. Sure, Cobie Smulders was hot, Scarlett looked good in tight leather (or whatever it is she wore) but aside from that, the movie did absolutely nothing for me. I've never re-watched it after seeing it in the cinemas.

Well, all right, I get you. The point is, even if it's just good enough, not superb, but good enough, it's impossible to not make it good enough with such a budget and such a big team and famous people. My point is that Joss should not be credited for the avengers for the avenger's success.

The avengers was successful and good enough (to some) because it had the most famous actors, the most famous comic book heroes, hundreds of millions of dollars, a big team working on the movie. If you'd put any guy who watched good action movies I bet he can also make the avengers not complete shit.

Regarding Avengers I guess the appeal is that it was the first time you saw a superhero team on the big screen and it was so hyped up. Though I agree with you as a film it was mediocre in terms of plot.

Medicare is putting it kindly. It was incredibly generic, and the movie struggled to make Captain American, the Black Widow and Hawkeye relevant in any shape or form.

Whedon's project won't fail because it's a non canon elseworld story, or because it's a canon story involving some stupid concept that changes everything. It will fail because he's a hack. It's much simpler than what you're painting things to be.
