The problem with Black Mirror isn't that it's written by SJW Londonistan cuckolds ushering the brown age of muhammen rape, it's that the writing is fucking laughable and the themes and "pulpy sci fi" is usually inane shit, or at best a decent (if unoriginal) idea that quickly goes to shit.

Even though it's not really scifi, the first (or 2nd?) episode with the serious drama about the politican having to fuck a pig is exactly all you need to know about Black Mirror.

I don't think the first episode is really all you need to know. Episode 2 and 3 are much better in the first season. Episode 1 is hammy. All of season 2 is pretty good.
This season is hit and miss again, about half are hammy and half are pretty good.
Episode 5 of this season you can see the twist coming but it's still a really good exploration of what's probably inevitable with brain-computer interfaces in the context of the military.

The last episode with the bees was quite shit as well, just in terms of the story. Only episode really worth watching is Nosedive. And even that one has the weird, "every rich woman's fantasy is about black men" billboard, but overall I liked the acting and the believability of it.

It's hard to ignore the SJW bullshit when you're familiar with the usual trademarks of their writing and know the show has been produced by the BBC and their ilk.

Even the base idea behind the title of the show is a bit bullshit. The "black mirror" being the computer screen reflecting ourselves. The point being that things like the internet are reflecting the worst of us even if that's hardly the case.

In reality, most people are quite nice and decent.

In the SJW's mind, most people are evil and must be constantly kept in check to prevent them for being horrible to each other.

So you can see that in the writing for many SJW shows, where they have a couple people that act as special snowflakes that are better than the rest and being kept down by the rest of society.

In the Twilight Zone, most of the episodes have most characters just being fairly normal people that are thrust into extraordinary circumstances. Most of the characters are just pleasant people, that may be a bit greedy or suspicious of others, but on the whole they're mostly decent people. In Black Mirror it sounds like there's often these characters that are just horrible.

It's an unpleasant level of negativity in Black Mirror which shows a poor understanding of society unless you're feeling particularly pessimistic (possibly due to thinking living in a low trust society in somehow the norm).

I'll spoil the rest of the episode then.

White girl admits after sleeping with the black chick that she's never slept with anyone, male or female, but explains she's engaged but it's complicated.

The next day the black girl is no where to be found, the white girl finds the dude who was trying to get with the black chick at the start, and he says she flaked on him too after they fucked. The other night club (which we only see for like two minutes) is a goth/metal bdsm club which has pit fights and such going on in them. The guy tells her to try looking for the girl in other years.

tl;dr: They're all in a virtual reality game where they can pick which year they hang out in like servers. After tracking down the black chick and the two of them having a fight, the black chick's backstory is revealed. She has three months to live, she was married to a man for 49 years. She just wants to have carefree fun in the game until she dies. In real life she's in her 60's in a nursing home.

The white girl meanwhile is also in her 60's, but has been in a complete coma since her teen years. Inside the game is the only place she can interact with other people. She reveals a "tragic" backstory of how when she was a teen she came out to her parents as a lesbian, and they wouldn't accept it. So in a huff she drove away in her car and got in a wreck that left her in her comatose state.

Her fiance turns out to be an orderly who has agreed to marry her so he can consent to her killing herself. If you kill yourself while playing the game you can "cross over" and have your consciousness uploaded into the game to live permanently as one of the residents. The black girl asks her to gay marry her instead of the orderly, so they do it, and immediately after the old white lady is killed and wakes up her young immortal self in the game. She asks the black girl to stay married to her forever in the game, and the black girl refuses saying she just felt sorry for her and intends to die naturally and join her husband in whatever naturally comes after death. The white girl starts attacking her husband as being selfish for not uploading his consciousness into the game, and the black girl slaps her, then explains that her husband refused to because they had a daughter together who died young, before the game had been created, and refused to go there if his daughter couldn't. Black girl gets into a car crash in the game and logs out.

Inexplicably she then immediately changes her mind, and decides to have herself euthanized to spend eternity gay married to he white girl in the game. We see them driving off into the sunset and partying away the imaginary 80's spliced with footage of robot arms moving data around row after row of servers.

Every single episode assumes the worst of people, yeah. I love the concept of the series, but the execution definitely leaves a lot to be desired.

All he does is take some new form of technology coming out and carry it to it's absolute darkest possible use, often times in ways I simply cannot see any consumer wanting to purchase. The christmas episode for example has this subplot about smart homes here the AI is a neural clone of the home owner. They make a copy of your brain, turn it into an AI and stick it in a device. So another copy of you wakes up in a tiny room with nothing to do, and is then tortured for what from it's perspective could be centuries until it complies to run the house and do everything the way the real you would want. I can't picture damn near anyone purchasing that, even from a completely selfish perspective.

He also seems ridiculously obsessed with technology that alters your visual perception. The Entire History of You, White Christmas, Playtest, Nosedive and Men Against Fire all use this same technology, albeit in different ways.

It also has that problem some episodes of 90's Outer Limits and Stargate SG-1 had, a sort of variation on the "planet of people who wear hats" thing. Like, let's say they go to a world where everyone has a chip in their head that alters their memories and gives them access to a huge library of information, then it turns out for the rest of that episode this technology is all the entire world revolves around. Everyone is constantly using whatever the technology is, anyone who doesn't use it is a weirdo and the center of the plot, not depending entirely on whatever the technology is and having past times built in it simply isn't present. Perfect example of this is The Entire History of You.

In that example everyone gets a chip in their head that records everything they see or hear, every single memory they have. I could see people signing on for this technology, but in his world this has wiped out all other forms of entertainment. No one plays video games, no one watches television, no one goes to the movies, no one even watches porn. People go on vacations, and their sole method of entertainment is re-watching memories they enjoyed, and showing them to people at dinner parties. One guy points out that he uses his implant to cycle through memories of women he's had sex with and jerk off watching it.

Also, National Anthem and Shut Up and Dance were annoying in that they didn't contain any sci-fi element at all. There is no cutting edge future technology. Everything that happens in those episodes could happen today.

In regards to the memory recording episodes, you could look to the Robin Williams movie about people that get implants to record what they see in their lifetime. Which probably did the subject a bit better than Black Mirror. There they basically just use it to help create biographical movies for those after they've died, which is probably a more accurate depiction of what would happen with such a technology.

It's basically just like taking photographs or video of things, so it's like having a large photo album to flip through concerning some moments in your life that you or others may get sentimental over. The idea that people would become obsessed with just reliving the exact same moments in their lives and wanting to blast it in everyone's face, or even that absurd idea that all over forms of entertainment would be pushed aside and ignored in favor of watching memories is just fucking stupid.

It's a common problem in most of these episodes of Black Mirror that they all depend on most of the characters just acting fucking retarded and at times outright evil in ways that make no fucking sense whatsoever. Which is mostly why I'd say the show seems to have SJWs writing it. They assume all technology is going to be used in the worst ways possible and that everyone is going to act just as stupid as the writer imagines which largely depends on having very little knowledge of how similar technologies have been used in the past or of how most people even behave now.

I found it kind of subtly eerie. Maybe they're living in their personal heaven for now, but how long will it last? The episode seems to imply that people who stay in the game for too long eventually lose their ability to appreciate any of it, and devolve into empty thrill seeking degenerates, and we're not told there's any option for them to be turned off. And presumably they're stuck there until the automated systems break down, and there's nobody left to repair them, which could take centuries or longer. What would living for that long in paradise do to a person?

Nigger, it hits notes of Twilight Zone. Take Episode 2 of this season for example, clear nod to the classic 'Perchance to Dream' written by Beaumont.
Not to mention, not every episode of Twilight Zone is taking a spin on technology. This show mostly is.
