Anything Ubisoft, they constantly do it every time a new AC game comes out. I don't know if they do it with Rayman or anything else but it feels like Watch Dogs and Far Cry got threads suspiciously in massive bursts a couple weeks before release. Not days before release which is relatively normal for anything, we're talking weeks.EA for sure has to be considering all those Battlefront 2 threads a couple months back and near release about how it had redeemed itself with the same exact image and posts. It didn't feel like it until after around BF3 or 4 that they cared though.Perfect Dark was massively spammed back in the day when it came to XBLA with the same copy/paste posts.Let's also not forget Borderlands spam which took up essentially the entire board making it unusable for several weeks though it did give some great OC stuff.There was also a guy who spammed Fallout New Vegas stuff around release that had the exact same bullet points every time but who knows if that was viral marketing or what because it was so blatant.

Of all threads being made about games, just a small percentage is being made by actual shills. The great majority of shill threads that are being accused of being shill threads are in fact template threads being routinely spammed by schizos, who know they're able to control Holla Forums's opinions about games through sheer spam. Because if everyone is anonymous, all you need to do to control opinions is to be the loudest.So if I wanted to make a game impossible to discuss on Holla Forums (that's not that popular or part of a liked franchise so that it will get talked about a lot regardless of my input), I'd simply make the same shitty thread about it at a regular basis, but not too regular that the mods will catch on to it (then you need to switch IPs using a VPN or resetting your router). People will inevitably notice that I'm spamming the same thread, and inevitably call me a shill for doing so, because a large part of Holla Forums is desperate to reinforce their notion of shill boogeymen ruining this board. Then when someone else tries to make a thread about the game and genuinely wants to talk about it, people will instead react by calling OP a shill and make any thread about the game uninhabitable, just like I've trained them to without them realizing it. Just sprinkle positive opinions here, rebuke naysayers there, post some clues that might one lead to believe I'm one of the developers of the game, and Holla Forums will perform all kinds of mental gymnastics to think I'm a shill. When it's just a bored fuck like me with too much time on his hands. If you think I'm bullshitting you, go look up some indie game about to be released that might look somewhat decent or memeworthy, and spam threads about it every day praising it to high heavens and trying to drum up hype. Do it right, and you can effectively train Holla Forums to be your personal army.
