a fucking 960 and a dual-core processorI don't even care anymore. Just playing Diablo 2 and watching anime now. Newest game I played was Sekiro, and I didn't care much for it. Before that, maybe Vemintide?Shame I can't emulate shit, though.
GTX 1070, going for a 3070 this year. In my fucked up country these things are so expensive it's not worth waiting for a price drop which will be minuscule and "budget" options aren't worth it either.

580, I think. I'm still running a 2500k, it's getting close to upgrade time.I'll probably wait until 2022 or so, honestly. 1080, got it after my 980ti set itself on fire and EVGA send it to me as a replacement, how nice of them. Still going strong, after helping my brother in law assemble his 2x RTX 2080 Ti setup I don't think I'll be upgrading for at least a year into the new gen, since the performance in games did not justify the amount of shekels he spent on his entertainment box.

>>507952013I did it manually.10 mhz steps on the core clock and 30 mhz steps on the memory clock.
Using an msi GTX970 (I think it's one of the factory overclocked ones with a dual fan cooler). Bought it for this 2013-built machine with a 3570k because the HD7950 died young. Totally satisfied with this system's performance in 1080p to this day.Waiting for Ampere, RDNA 2, and Zen 3 to build again. Maybe DDR5 as well. Pascal and Turing are finally going to get smoked, to say nothing of my Maxwell.
>>507952378The difference is some games won't work on amd compared to nvidia. I had a 480 before my 1070ti, and shit like batman arkham knight, wolfenstein new order, or fucking psychonauts would just not run and emulation was definitely slower (by like 5 fps). Nvidia is more reliable due to them doing shitty marketing practices.
>>507952268I don't know, mine still had 2 months of warranty left before it went full Tibetan monk.

This card is rock solid. I play in 2560 x 1440 resolution with full ultra settings (with a couple of tweaks here and there such as no depth of field, motion blur, or chromatic aberration, and sometimes I tone down the shadows just a tiny bit). In all but the biggest AAA games, I get 144 frames per second on my 144 hz monitor. With those big AAA games, such as Witcher 3, I get between 95 and 125 frames per second at 1440p resolution and full ultra settings and heavily modded including Reshade. I'm skipping the 2000 series and I'll wait for the 3000 series and re-evaluate. For now, my card is more than up to the task.
>1080I am years behind on releases. I can wait another 2 to 4 years before upgrading because there are not many new games I want to play these days.
970 it just werks
>>507949405750ti, I really should start considering upgrading soon. I must say it has been a really reliable gpu over the years tho.
Currently, buying a future proof PC and snagged a 2070 Super have it still in its box getting the more permanent parts but I might resell it depending on how the 3000 series cards are.
>>507953027What's the difference though? Just customer support or is there some tech quality difference going on?

The performance gains over Pascal could not justify the price. From what we know so far about Ampere and RDNA, they're both going to smoke it. They're saying ~50% better performance than a 2080Ti out of Big Navi, and nvidia will almost certainly outdo them.

>>507961326alright, so in that price what you get?
>>507950610the "budget" graphics cards here cost 2x more than the best APU's while barely performing bettera gtx 1060 costs 400 fucking euros and is massively outdated already, as fast as a ps4 pro and much slower than a xbox one x while costing the same

GTX 1060want to upgrade soon but dont know what todont really feel like spending 500+ dollars on a 3000 series card so im kind of hoping for the 2000 series to drop down in price once they come outi dont care about raytracing so im just using it for pure performance

>>507961498FYI, depending on the type of blackscreen crash you're getting (does the audio repeat and the system completely freeze or does it continue playback normally and the only issue is no display?) it could be due to an unstable memory overclock, it might be worth dialing your XMP profile back one step or operating your memory at stock frequency and seeing if you can reproduce it.

970, I've thought about upgrading a few times recently but I can't justify 400+ for a new graphics card when I know ill need a new motherboard and new CPU as well as a new power supply most likely. So id basically be building a whole new one. Just bought a house so I don't think spending a grand on a computer when my current one plays everything fine the way it is.
Made the jump last year from an i7 920 + MSI GTX680 to a Ryzen 3900X + Asus Strix RTX2080. I'm good for the next 4 years.

what do you guys do with old parts? just store them away or sell them or trash em?

Intel integrated HD graphics from 2012.I don't know dick about GPUs Holla Forums. I basically don't play games on PC any more.
>>507961396The 4790k is a shit-tier CPU. 4c8t would still be okay if it wasn't for the fact you're running on DDR3 memory and an outdated architecture. Are you one of those simps who use cpu.benchmark.com to compare CPUs? Because it says the 4790k is better than the 1700 when in reality the 1700 blows the 4790k out of the water on any game that isn't from a decade ago.
I still have my GTX 770 and I'll upgrade it with a Xbox Series X.

>>507956768Can you actually achieve a locked 144 on GTAV? My own experience with a shit i7 and looking at benchmarks it seems the frame rate can drop a lot during action and driving. I honestly think 144hz or god forbid anything higher is a complete waste unless you're an esports fag or solely play rhythm games like Osu. Games I know so far can't basically run at 144hz locked or can't even reach 144hz are:All DS games (DS:R doesn't run at 144fps, it can run at 144hz windowed, but the game is 60 unlike many retards believe)Borderlands 1, 2 and PreTF2 with non-MC graphics and MvMHalf of the RE and CoD gamesGTA4 and 5 to some extendFallout 3, NV, 4 and 76Oblivion? idk and SkyrimThose are just the games I know of. It honestly seems retarded to get an even 144hz screen if it not only requires double the budget to pull it off, but you can't even play a bunch of popular games because there's no fps unlocker or the games' engines simply can't handle it.
>>507949405just upgraded from a RX 390x to a 5600 XT Sapphire

>>507949405same as youwaiting for new GPUs to come out or something, current ones are not enough of an upgrade to give a shit.
>>507966762The issue isn't single core power, it's the fact you're on shitty ass DDR3 that you're running at 2133 max (unless you're an autisimo level enthusiast who got DDR3 to run at 3000+) and you only have 4 cores and 8 threads. 6c12 is already maxed out with some games like the latest Tomb Raider game. Is TR good? I don't know and I don't care. Fact is games require more cores/threads and it'll only get worse. Do yourself a favor and buy at least a Ryzen 1700 or 3700, dumb autist. Or if you wanna go for Intel get an 8700k. The 9700k is a scam.

I bought a used gigabyte 1080ti when the 2000 series came out but then the fans started to die so I just did this and now it runs pretty great.

I had an issue with mine where the software severely underclocked the fans and it would make it overheat, either leading to a crash or severe performance issues. Manually changed the fans to 3k rpm and it runs stable.

Just switched from a GTX670 to an RX570. It's a pretty low end card but it was cheap as fuck and a nice stop gap before I upgrade the rest of my PC when I stop being poor.
>>507970431some work fine, some dont. like all pc components there are a certain amount of errors in the production (computer chips are made up of billions of circuits) and the 5700 just seems to have more errors than usual so more of them fuck up more often.
