But they already made a ton of bad games that led to the death of most of their IPs. Instead of just saying "they're dead, let it go" we should be saying "get the original good designers back to revive the IPs." The problem here is that 99% of those people never want to work for Konami again, because management was that bad. So you either 1) Dramatically change Konami management or 2) Sell the IPs to other companies who the original creators would be willing to work with. Neither option is likely so yes, the IPs will die. But that's not the fans just giving up. It's shitty management and IP control.

They had two decades where they made tons of small budget games. And that was the era most people consider to be their best. When the PS2 era came along, they started trying to make all their games look like AAA games. But really 90% of the money was going to MGS. While the other dozen IPs got budgets lower than an SNES game, yet were still expected to pass off as high budget games. Suikoden III got the worst of this and that's why the Suikoden creator left, being very vocal about how shitty Konami was. But no one listened as long as their precious MGS was still around. Then Goemon, DDR, Castlevania and ZOE all died. Still, no one cared. Oh, but the minute Kojima was "fired," suddenly EVERYONE woke up...

>>507751386>An exception doesn't make the rule. As previously stated, a good outsourced game doesn't compensate for several garbage ones. You only provided a few examples. And you're trying to put the blame of Konami's downfall on outsourcing when Konami has far more internally made games which were shit. And their downfall started before the games you mentioned.>It seems you're done having a discussion and want to "win" some petty internet argument. No, I want you to realize where Konami fucked up. It was their change of management around the time the PS2 released. As well as spying on their own workers and massively undercutting their own games. As stated by the developers who left Konami.

>>507750778>>507750856It's impressive how much Tokimemo merch Konami was able to pump out in only a handful of years. The entire existence of Tokimeki Memorial is kinda strange. It was one of the most popular and influential games of its time in Japan, yet it's a complete unknown entity in the West. It doesn't even have a "Here's this massive game from Japan that you've never heard of" cult following.

>>507736737The only noteworthy thing about this game is how sped up the dub is.

>>507758337> Too bad Castlevania never went too far with bad ends/corruption scenarios. There‘s Simon and Soma as obvious examples, Soleiyu too

>>507730234I hope Konami sells every IP they own and then shuts down

>>507758632I‘d rather they just sit on their ips than sell them to someone who makes an unrecognizable mess out of them

>>507758632>I hope Konami sells every IP they own Good End.>and then shuts downNah, they won't ever need to shut down. They just keep making passive income from Pachinko and outside investments. They don't need to make a single new unique product and they'll keep making money (like Disney).

>>507758784"Hey Richter, what'cha doin'!"

Attached: 1536540583198.jpg (500x500, 90.97K)

>>507759205Sell all IPs to Capcom and Nintendo while keeping the rights to Pachinko.

>>507759313"Resurrecting Dracula so the fight can go on for eternity, Maria.Wait...where's Anette?"

>>507759338They'd really need to sell the IPs to specific companies. Selling all their RPGs and Adventure games to Capcom would be stupid. But then selling their Fighting games and SHUMPS to Nintendo would be bad too.Doesn't matter either way though, since they won't sell them. They'll just sit on them like a bitter old man. Just to stick it to the original creators, so they can't ever make new games.

>>507759460"Oh, she got stuck in the Tower. Kept muttering something about hating clocks."

I'm sorry Bloody Roar bros but I'm starting to lose faith about getting a sequel.

>>507730234So is Konami ever make anything not Pachinko, PES or Yu-Gi-OH related ever again?

>>507730234what is the point of celebrating when they just make pachinko machines now?

>>507761713If it's any consolation, every IP will suffer the same fate. Once the original creators no longer have control and the management start milking them to death, or just kill them without making any more. It's happen to every IP I love except Dragon Quest. And you can bet the minute Yuji Horii retires or dies, the series will crash and burn.

>>507750778What was Tokimeki Memorial about and why was it so popular?I remember some magazines talking about it being thee shit way back in the day but i can0t read moon for shit.

>>507751948Why did they decided to make Simon a red head?

Konami secondary hereI have played most of the titles from the entry level stuff: MGS, Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Bomberman I guess.Where do I go from here?

Attached: 1466618337507.jpg (512x512, 186.58K)

>>507764146It's a dating sim that basically set the standard for the industry. You can think of it doing for dating sims/visual novels what Dragon Quest did for JRPGs. Why it got so popular, I can't really say. Because I personally didn't find it that unique or appealing. But I'm comparing what it is to the games that came after. Which the games that came after imitate it quite a lot. Especially Key games. The big notable thing about it, aside from becoming the standard for dating sims to come, is the head director and writer was IGA. Who went on to take over Castlevania. And it really shows, since after he took over, Castlevania turned into a bad soap opera with fujo designs.

>>507762551So what you are saying is that we should kill every person in the company after the talent is gone?

>>507764464Thats how Ayami Kojima drew him in the PS1 port of the X68000 remake of 1.

>>507765187No, the company should try to get their talent back. And fire the management responsible for driving them away. Which I said in various posts in this thread.
