Sometimes construction workers end up doing shitty repair jobs, sometimes caterers do tiny venues, and sometimes actors do shitty parts. Since it's one of those jobs that has zero room for tenure or longevity (as even a great show with a cult following can get promptly shitcanned at a moment's notice) you can't really blame actors for taking whatever they can get.
